Just bought a 2006 2500 Laramie CC 4x4 CTD 97K miles.

First Dodge product I have ever owned.
Last diesel was a 97 Ford PS 7.3....sold several years ago.

Now I need more power than a 5.0 Ford can give me towing a 24' travel trailer.

Welcome to the site. You actually have a QUAD CAB, not a CC or a crew cab.

5.9 motor is a beast! Pretty low mileage! I have a friend who tows boats from state to state for a living. 2006 has 400K miles last I heard!
