Hey guys,

I recently traded my '15 Chevy in for a '17 Ram crew 4x4, granite crystal metallic with the night package. It has the 5.7, fully loaded w/ leather buckets, moonroof, 8.4 uconnect w/ alpine audio upgrade, body color running boards, heated/cooled seats, heated steering wheel, parking assist, spray bedliner.

I look forward to be a part of this forum. I've creeped a few threads so far and I've been impressed with a lot of quality & informative posts. Mods purchased/on the way so far:

-factory match tint and windshield strip
-remote exhaust cutout
-tonneau cover
-mopar slushmats
-smoke tail covers

I'm still researching leveling kits but if anyone has a good suggestion I'd appreciate it.

Congrats and welcome! Just an FYI, we can't see the pictures you posted. Photobucket doesn't allow 3rd party hosting anymore unless you pay them a ridiculous fee.

Welcome. Assuming you had the 5.3/6spd in your chevy, how does it compare to the 5.7 8 speed? I had an 09 5.3 chevy and had nothing but issues with the afm.

Thanks, edited using different image host. Should be able to see them now.

Yep. While I had no issues with the Chevy (traded under 50K mi), I'm loving the Ram 8 speed thus far. Very smooth and economical, was surprised to be over 20 mpg during break-in period.

Glad to be here. Honestly I had no complaints with the Chevy. I do think the big 3 truck makers all have their strengths and it's really just a matter of preference these days. However, the value Ram offers is just far and away better. I was able to get 12K knocked off the sticker price, which meant getting a fully optioned, premium truck for around 44K. A comparable Chevy is in the mid 50s range and a Ford would likely be closer to 60k.

Of course the performance and sound of the 5.7 is unmatched. In terms of styling, I do think the current gen Ram is a little long in the tooth while Ford and Chevy are a little younger in their platforms but the multitude of exterior options close the gap considerably. I love the granite color paired with the night package. I think the interior is flat out best in class, which is a testament to how far Ram has come with fit and finish. The quality of the leather is way better then the Chevy, the dash centered around the uconnect is attractive and accessible. Last but not least, this truck is just more fun to drive. It feels more alive and energetic. Something about the Chevy just seemed like it was more suited for an old retired geezer. Everything worked fine and did what it was supposed to, there was just nothing passionate about the truck that stuck with me. That changed the second I stepped foot in the Ram. I'm 31 years old and I feel like I'm back in a truck that's age appropriate.

youll find tons of great info on here for levelling kits. i went with bilstein 5100 adjustable struts on my '17 from info on here. they give me 2.1" in the front. some people on here would recommend upgrading UCA's while youre at it. i didnt and havent had any issues
