Spacers are definitely a problem, incorrect installation is a problem, but Bilsteins or Ranchos installed correctly aren't.
Has anyone created a thread detailing the correct installation of the Bilsteins? I've had a set sitting on my garage floor for a month now. Admittedly I've been pretty busy but I'm also a bit apprehensive because I've never done it before. I did install the ProComp spacers (which I'd very much like to remove) but that's a good bit different than taking the struts down.
I checked with a local shop and they wanted around $400 for install and alignment. I'd prefer to keep $300 of that in my pocket and do it myself.
It does seem that early 2013's didn't inherit this problem. Who knows what the cut off date could be though. I have read guys running the 2.1" setting getting by without issues though but I've also her the story of the lower setting popping them.
Another thing I'm curious about now though is how this setup looks with the air ride. When you raise the truck does it change the UCA angles and if so, how does that not cause issues?
Sucks this issue even exists. In a truck that can bounce around off-road like in the commercials, the suspension shouldn't be this week.
Also, has anyone had this issue without changing anything? Be curious if taking these trucks off-road even mildly would cause the same problem.
I run mine offroad, mildly and pretty hard lol, no issues, just went out to look at them, stock suspension still minus airbags in the back, build date may 2013It does seem that early 2013's didn't inherit this problem.
