Just to add another data point, I'm running 5100's on my '14 BigHorn set at 2.1". Just ticked over 4,000 miles after install with zero issues.

I was just sharing my experience and findings. I have hours and hours into reading about this on all the forums and never found a confirmed issues with Bilsteins on a 14. Mine are good and it looks and drives great, also I don't think I will have future issues.

I was/am running 2" hbs and my control arms popped about 1500 miles into it, nothing more severe than baltimore city streets. I've got 5100s on the way.

What would be a big help is a picture of a standard UCA on a 13-14, then compare it to the prior year control arms and zone alarm control arm. I've seen pics of the 2013-2014 and those UCA are just sooo thin.

Spacers are definitely a problem, incorrect installation is a problem, but Bilsteins or Ranchos installed correctly aren't.

Has anyone created a thread detailing the correct installation of the Bilsteins? I've had a set sitting on my garage floor for a month now. Admittedly I've been pretty busy but I'm also a bit apprehensive because I've never done it before. I did install the ProComp spacers (which I'd very much like to remove) but that's a good bit different than taking the struts down.

I checked with a local shop and they wanted around $400 for install and alignment. I'd prefer to keep $300 of that in my pocket and do it myself.

I'm interested in following this thread too. I've got a 2013 Big Horn and have been on the fence with leveling etc since I've read of some of the ball joint issues. Don't want to get in to all the control arm stuff.

Would be nice to have a thread dedicated to what actually works with the 2013-14 for leveling and lift.

It does seem that early 2013's didn't inherit this problem. Who knows what the cut off date could be though. I have read guys running the 2.1" setting getting by without issues though but I've also her the story of the lower setting popping them.

Another thing I'm curious about now though is how this setup looks with the air ride. When you raise the truck does it change the UCA angles and if so, how does that not cause issues?

Sucks this issue even exists. In a truck that can bounce around off-road like in the commercials, the suspension shouldn't be this week.

Also, has anyone had this issue without changing anything? Be curious if taking these trucks off-road even mildly would cause the same problem.

I think I am going to take my truck out in the beach this summer (stock March 2013 build), before I do any leveling to see if there are any issues. Leaning towards Rancho Quicklifts because Bilsteins 5100 are hard to find and Rancho rebate runs out at the end of the month.

I run mine offroad, mildly and pretty hard lol, no issues, just went out to look at them, stock suspension still minus airbags in the back, build date may 2013

About ready to pull the trigger, any difference in the Bilsteins or Ranchos Loaded? Install on one or the other? Do I need to do the rear also? Just looking to level and do a body lift?
