I'm thinking about purchasing a BL and possibly installing it myself. Do you guys have any pointers or advice?

It's not difficult at all. I do my own work though. A simple set of tools and straight extensions. You'll need a drill and a couple bits. You'll need a grinder too. It took me, by myself maybe 5-6 hours taking my time. It took me about 16 hours to do my 6" superlift.

My advice is to install a 3" almost the exact same job to be done .

I suggest washing under your truck first and then spray all the bumper and body mounting bolts with penetrating oil a couple times. It sucks laying on your back working with dirt falling in your face! Other than that, read the instructions several times and address any questions you have before starting.

Ha ha I agree with the 3" but it's a work truck so I get in and out of my truck bed all day. I just want a little extra height. How do you take out the bumper sensors? Do they just pop out?

It took me about 5-6 hrs also. I had the privilege of using a lift though. Hardest part is drilling the brackets for the front bumper. Nothing real hard just time consuming.

. . . read the instructions several times and address any questions you have before starting.

I haven't yet installed my Zone 1.5" lift but the instructions can get a little vague in spots. As suggested in other threads, get a hold of Rough Country's 1.25" body lift instructions:

http://www.roughcountry.com/dodge-body-lift-kit-rc800.html

Check under "Installation Info" and you can click on the PDF. This will help fill in the gaps/shortcomings in the Zone instructions.

Just installed the zone 1 1/2" kit. Relatively straight forward, time consuming all the same though, took me 8hrs. Went with the 1 1/2" over the 3" because the 3" is almost 3 times the price, rip off because the only difference is longer spacers and a steering linkage extension, should only be around 50 bucks more

Problem is the more people add the 1.5 the more the trucks look alike making the 3" price more acceptable to not look like every on else . Same as how it started with Leveling then everyone had that so then came add the 1.5" BL to be a little different . It just makes the 3"few bucks more justifiable just to not look a little higher and still cost less than a 4" suspension lift plus it can be done in stages . I bought the 1.5" months before I installed it but ordered the PA 3" right after installing the 1.5" because it still didnt have the height or the ride I wanted . Now I lowered the bils to let the suspension absorb some of the bumps instead of transmitting them . So now the 3" BL goes on to get a little taller than it was with a much better ride. all that plus I can't leave s#!t alone .
