Hello I got my rims in now I'm looking for tires. I went with
20x9 with a +10 offset for my laramie. I am wondering if I get 275/65/20 vs 285/60/20 which tire size would you recommend. I have the stock 20's now and not sure if I want to go 35s. I think the biggest tire size i would lile to go is 295. Thoughts and comments would be greatly appreciated.

Thanks.

I think 35 is perfect with four inch lift but to each his own.

The more I look at my 285/65/20's with the Bils set @ 2.1", the more I think they'd look just fine with a 4" lift

Does it make a big difference looks wise? I mean my 275/60/20 looks small at some angles and fine at other angles. Will a 285/65/20 AT tire look better? IDK?? 35's would be nice but the gas mileage would just kill it for me. I know its a truck but 35's towing my boat is gonna eat up my tires and possibly more stress on the truck.

Thanks guys

Compared to my stock tires, the BFG's look monstrous! They are taller or as tall as most 35's (typical 35 x12.5's measure around 34.5") but a 295/65/20 would be the PERFECT size for a 4" IMO. They spec out to 35.1 to 35.4 and right at 12" wide.......and usually weight less than a "35x12.50".

I'm just saying if you don't want to get 35's its my opinion the 285/65/20's would look good.

Tires look good but seem just a little stuffed to me.

you have the exact same lift set-up that I do. 285/65R20 and 295/65R20 both take you over the 35" height that you mentioned. I run 285/60R20 Silent Armours in the winter on factory wheels, and they just flat out look too small. For what you say you are looking for, I would recommend 295/60R20's in the Toyo Open Country ATII's. It's 34" x 11.8" . . . Rides awesome on the road . . . Has a great mileage warranty . . . Plenty of tread for you at the boat dock . . . And they look awesome . . . I believe Nitto makes one in the size in their G2 Terra, but I have no experience with that tire

285/65/20 BFG KO 2 specs out to 34.5" tall and 11.7" wide on a 20"x9" rim.

35x12.50 (same BFG KO 2) is the same height, 12.1" wide on a 20"x9"

Oops, I stand corrected . . . the 285/65R20's are 34-1/2 tall, and they are available in the BFG's and the Nittos

Thanks buddy. You have been helpful in other post that I have posted. I appreciate it. I think I may go with the 285/65/20 In the Nitto terra g2. My cousin works for discount tire and is giving me the hook up. I appreciate the help from everyone also. Will post pic wit new rim and tire set up when I get everything installed.

I know some guys on here have talked about how they wish they went a little bigger on tires. Tires are WAY to expensive to redo if your not happy with the size. Your right though 35 12.50 20 mud terrain tires CRUSH your gas mileage. Did it on my 09 and now my 14 ram. Price you pay for the look. Lol. P.s. My truck is my only toy. If you have your truck toy pulling your boat toy it might make sense to go less aggressive with the tire. Good luck. I'm sure it's gonna look great!

I'm still trying to decide my set up for my 4" too.. 35x12.5 Cooper st maxx and a 1/4" spacer.. Orrrrrr 295/60 nitto trail grapplers and no spacer... I'm leaning the coops...

My only thing is I don't want MTs... I may take a look at the toyo at2s again...

Truck looks great! I'm glad to see that size looks good on your truck, seeing that I'll have the same size when I finally get to lift mine.

So I checked the tire pressure and the shop set it at 72PSI. Does it have to be that high?
