I did it myself and i had no prior knowledge on this stuff.

lol took me a few hours but i got it done eventually. all you need is some different sockets and a torque wrench. its pretty simple really, crowbar helps in getting the coil back in place once you place the levelling kit ontop

I've never installed one before, but a lot of people would tell you to just take your time and don't rush anything. Sorry I'm not anymore help than that...

I installed my rcx 2.5 kit and took about 2.5 hours. What I found out to be the easiest way is to unbolt the upper A arm and take off the brake calipers to give you a little extra room to get the struts back in.

If you are going to do it yourself I would look into getting a coil compressor

I had to fight the passenger side pretty hard to get the spring and spacer back in and mine was only the 2" spacers. I don't know if I could have gotten the 2.5" in there. Probably would have had to remove one of the A-arms. I tried using spring compressors, but there wasn't enough room.

It can be done guys its not bad at all as long as you use a small crow bar and slide it in. It actually goes in easy if you have one person pushing down and one using the crow bar. I dont think you need the comoressor

I also did mine and just used the crow bar method, its a pretty straight forward install. I did fight the passenger side as well but got it all in in about 4 hrs but I also had to keep an eye on the kiddos so there were a lot of breaks haha.
Just helped my father in law with a 2.5 on his 2500, that we absolutely needed the spring compressor for.

I did one on my buddies truck, it's not that bad.. If you get a spring compressor, the Harbor freight ones are like 20 bucks and work good.

I had to drive to a job first thing in the morning that was about 60 miles away, so by the time I got the alignment done I had about 110 miles on it. It was way off when they did it but I didn't notice it while driving. Just wish I didn't have to drive that far that morning.

you don't need a spring compressor to install that spacer!

you just drop the strut assembly. 3 bolts on top and the solid one on the bottom.
I took the top spindle nut off, top sway and tie rod bolts off for space.

took my brother and I about 2 hrs for the complete swap on the driveway.

What size tire can you run on stock wheels with a 2.5 inch on a 2012 1500?
