Hello all,

I'm currently running a RCX 4" lift and the rear coil spacers measure 2.5". I went ahead and bought the 4" lift rear coils from Superlift. The stock rear coils out of the truck measure 18.5" while the new rear coils from Superlift are 22.5". I was under the impression that they would be only 3" like the Zone or BDS coils. Is it safe to replace that 2.5" space with the 4" rear coil or will it throw off my rear suspension components? I'm just being cautious since I'm potently changing the geometry more than what RCX may have designed the 4" lift to handle.

Thanks
Moses

I have the same lift. But I added a n 1 1/2 lower spacer and kept the rcx upper spacer on. Pinion angle is gonna be off and track bar also. I called rough country and had them send me the rear upper control arms and track bar drop bracket that comes in there 6 inch kit. Was only like 175$ shipped

How much were the springs? I would like to get rid of the spacers.

I paid $150 for the 4" coil springs, $67 for the track bar drop bracket and $24 in shipping.

You can't measure coils with no weight on them like that. If the spring rate is even slightly different they'll end up sitting at a different height all said and done. If you order the 3" rear lift coils from Superlift that's what the height increase should be with them installed under the truck.

With the RCX 2.5" spacers I measure in at 43.25" at the rear fender. With the Superlift rear coils installed I measure in at 44.5" at the rear fender. So I have a total of a 1.25" of extra rear lift installed vs the RCX 2.5" spacers. I was under the impression when I had purchased the coils from Superlift they were only going to add 0.5" of rear lift and not 1.25" rear lift. So does that mean I have a green light to put the Superlift coils back in or do I need to just keep my RCX spacers installed?

Thanks

1) Were the coil springs sitting in the pockets correctly on both the top and bottom? Sometimes having them rotated 180° from where they should be will cause them to sit higher.
2) Did you take the truck for a drive to get them to sit down into place?
3) New coil springs will sag slightly once they're broken in. By the sounds of it you didn't give them any time to do that.

I would just put them in and drive it for a while and give everything some time to break in and sit down where it needs to be and then measure.

So tonight for poops and giggles I pulled up the parts list from the Superlift website to search my rear coils I had received from Superlift. Lo and behold they sent me part #02-141 which indeed are the rear coils listed for there 6" lift kit. Even after talking with Blake over at Superlift to confirm they had sent me the correct rear coils. The rear coils I should've received are the #01-141 for the 4" lift kit.

Why can't we upload pictures any more? Now everyone has to click a link, that's weird.

You're in luck JB1 because I take meticulous notes when ever I talk to people on the phone.

Superlift comment rear lift amount,
#02-141: 3" - 3.5"
#02-140: 2" +/- 0.5"

On my 12 Ram 1500 CC you can see that I gained 3.75" of rear lift. To my surprise they made good on there part and sent me free of charge the #02-140 rear coils. I never did get to install them on my 12 Ram 1500. I did how ever install the#02-140 on my 17 Ram 1500 RCSB with the BDS 4" lift kit and gained 3.5"(rear passenger) and 3.75"(rear driver) of rear lift.

So from what you can see is that both sets of coils gave me almost identical amounts of rear lift. Granted one set was on a Ram CC while the other is on a Ram RCSB.

thanks, I don't see a 02-140 used on their kits.

The 4" parts list calls for 01-141 and 6" kit says 02-141 (f/2016 gas 4x4)

Indeed. I also posted my findings in post #10 of this thread. What I also found out recently is that rear coil #02-141 is also seen in the parts list for the Mopar 4" lift kit.
