Hey guys!

I am new to the forum as I just bought a 2017 Ram 1500 Laramie Crew Cab 4x4. I am starting to save up the money for a lift, but I am having a hard time debating between a 4" or 6" lift. I know for a fact that I am wanting to stick to 35x12.50 tires, but I don't want to do a 4" and regret not going to a 6" or going with a 6" and thinking the 35's are too small. Any thoughts? Pictures would be very helpful too. PS. I want it to sit perfectly level at either height.

Thanks,
Eric

So, here's the kicker.... a 4" or 6" lift will leave you with the factory rake. So if you go with a 4" lift, then add the bilstein Adj struts, you can get close to the 6" lift and remove the factory rake.

I had a 4" superlift and added bilsteins set at 1.4". So that's 5.4" lift and I only had about 1/2" of rake. You could do the 2.1" setting at be slightly nose high, but only by about 1/4"

6" lift. I probably sit nose high about 1/4" with this procomp setup, but you really cant tell. Sorry, no pictures on level ground. Lift shop showed me a small spacer I could remove to bring down the front a little and may get me level, but I'm totally happy with it and I was initially determined on being perfectly level as well. If you are even thinking you may regret not going up to 6" lift, then just do the 6". Just that 2 extra inches will give it a different look.

First, in order to decide what lift will yield your "level stance", you need to measure the difference in height from front fender height to ground -vs- rear fender height to ground (or wheel center), most are about 3" higher in rear but it does vary.

To answer your question, to fit 35's all you need is a 4" lift kit (any brand), or the 6/3 Zone/BDS lift kit.

6” with 35’s and still fits under standard 7foot garage door, as well as parking garage at work. Thinking about going to 37’s next time I need tires.

I'm not partial the wheel gap of a 6" lift on 35" tires. I had 5" up front and 3.5" of lift in the rear. I ended up taking out 1" up front and 1.5" in the rear to lessen the gap between the fenders and wheels.

4" lift here with 35's. Very happy with the look. Went with 4" to get into my standard height garage. I might have still fit with the 6" but with the Nav puck on the rear driver's side the pucker factor would have been too great for me. Didn't want to push my luck.

That's my concern right now. I don't want to go 6" and have the tires look too small. I want everything to look proportional.

That looks great man. I really like that stance. What lift did you go with? Any tips? And do you have any idea of how it affects the warranty?

Another option is look at tire size 325/60R20, they measure 35.7 so when mounted on the truck it should be right at 35”, whereas a 35/12.50R20 is 34.7 and 34 on the truck.

Here’s a 4” lift, bils at 1.4 IIRC, 325’s on 10 wides

That's the exact look I want. I am thinking about the 4" Mopar lift with Bils in order to keep most of my warranty intact. But I love how that looks.

Nope. I ended up going to a 2015 Ram 2500 with 3/1 lift and 37x12.50s :favorites13:

btw, here was my 1500 on 295/60r20s and 4" superlight + bils @ 1.4"

here it is in better lighting showing the fender gap. Yes, the truck is filthy! I rained the day before.

You guys got me really thinking hard about doing a 4" instead of a 6". There are some good looking trucks here. My delimma is my 3.21s if I did 6" lift my heart is set on 37s but I know a regear would be needed. Decisions decisions
