Hey guys, new ram owner here (2015 express 1500 4x4). I've learned a lot about leveling by reading the forums but have a question about expected labor cost. I'm in central IL and was quoted $1000 as they said I would need to replace the UCA. How much would be reasonable to pay if I bought the bils 5100 for the front and just paid labor and alignment? I'd just prefer someone that has experience to do it. Thanks

Well. I am not sure what you have in mind but I can tell you I paid $750 to a local shop for my Bilstein 5100's front and rear including alignment. This included the parts and labor.

I did some comparing with some others on a different thread and I felt I paid about $100 too much... I did not have the UCAs upgraded because I was only raising the front to 2.1"

Hope that helps.

I just installed bilsteins and new UCAs this past weekend at my house (I just have hand tools). I wouldn't pay a shop $1,000 to do it.

What type of uca's! That might be the big factor for the $ 1000 dollar bill.

Figure bils $200, zone uca $450 alignment $75 and labor 75 an hour. Honestly it's not horrible

I paid 200 for front bilstein's. 140 for install. 60 for front alignment, so 400 total.

It's honestly a very easy job. Uca's being extremely easy. The only thing i can't stress enough is use a descent spring compressor. I worked at harbor freight and saw to many of those death traps come back broken. My advice, rent one from an auto zone. Also youtube can be your best friend for installation.

Better yet, take the shocks down to a shop and have them compress them.
I went down to a small, independent, local shop just before closing. I gave the guy some cash for his troubles. It was a win-win. I didn't die, and he got drunk for free that night.

i was out 300 to put a leveling kit in my 1500 4wd express. that was 150 for the kit and 150 for alignment. did the kit in my garage in about 3 hours by myself. i have a good spring kit from Matco so the springs were no issue at all. the only dilemma i have is a friggin squeak i cant locate... lol

Do it yourself. I didn't even have tools but saw a YouTube video and went out and bought a small set of tools to do it myself and rented the other necessary tools from auto zone. It is very very easy
