Bilstein 6112's (@ 1.3) and Fox 2.0's installed.

Went from stock (5k) to GF 2/3 lowered (1K) and now Bilstein 6112 and Fox 2.0.

This setup is complete overkill for my needs as I am barely offroad and would have been ok with 5100's except I read that some feel the ride was too firm with 5100's. I wanted to go with Fox up front but could not justify the cost (got this front and rear set up for the cost of just the front Fox).

My take:
I am coming from being lowered so I don't have a fair comparison between stock and 6112's.

- Lift (6112's), I went with 1.3" as I like a little rake (for using it as a truck) and did not want to deal with control arm issues or vibrations. If I am being honest I kinda wish I went with the 1.75 setting.
- I got right around 1.25" of lift, so in my case It was almost dead on

- Rear shocks (Fox 2.0's) love them, they compliment the front 6112's extremely well, glad I went with them.

- Ride, absolutely love it, close to what I remember the stock ride to be however there is way more control with less bouncing and such. Potholes are firm and controlled, the bigger the hole the firmer the hit but in no way is there harshness. Speed bumps are soaked up better with more control.

Overall for the street it is perfect and exactly what I wanted, slightly firmer than stock with way more control. The very little offload I have done they are perfectly suited to my need.

Quick pic, not the best but gives an idea of what it looks like.

Do you feel like the Bilstein/Eibach front coils are better quality than the factory coils?

How was the side to side measurements?

How about an up close pic with wheel turned showing the new 6112's :)

quick update now that I have been running this combo a bit.

Overall still love this combo, to me it was worth every penny and I feel this is for the truck should have come from the factory.

I dropped off a 6" section of pavement at 10mph and it was perfectly composed and 0 issues.

Only downside (if that) is that I notice more wheel hop if I spin slow in the rain.

I’m interested in your opinion on these as I am debating between a full fox 2.0 set up or bilstein 6112 for front and 5100 for rear. I save about $350 going with the bilstein set up and while it’s $350, it’s only $350 so is it worth the extra coin? I’m curious about your off road experience with them as well as cornering? I also plan to jack them to 2.5 inches and replace the UCA with mevotechs. Btw not trying to hi jack the thread just curious in opinions. Thanks in advance.

I was being cheap lol.

I really wanted the Fox 2.0, BUT i am 90%+ on the road and don't plan to do any hard core offroading. The little "field" and "grass" offroading I have done I really like them.

I wanted to keep some rake so I went with 1.3, in hindsight I kinda wish I went with 1.75 however I am happy.

FWIW, Fox does not recommend going over the factory set 2" lift (at least from what I remember when researching them). If you really want 2.5 (I would measure first your factory rake first) Fox may not be for you.

Any updates on your set-up after having them a while?

Thanks in advance,

The a great stance and the look I would go for. I feel like they should be like that from stock.

I want to keep my stock tires so something like this would work great

Update,

Now have 25.5K miles on the truck and (3) NY winters

Still love these, however I am very disappointed with how they are rusting. Especially since I coated them with fluid film when I installed them!

FWIW, my Fox rear shock look new, if I were to do it again I would do the Fox fronts and 1" rear spacers for sure.

Ya that’s really amazing, I’ve had mine installed for 2-1/2 years and I park outside and mine do not have any rust. The fox are aluminum so they won’t rust but the Bils are some kinda coated steel IIRC

Here’s a recent photo of mine, they aren’t show worthy but they are rust free.

Yeh, he had like 100K on them or something and used the truck for logging or something if I remember right. He never cleaned the underside of his truck or some ****.

Crazy.

When the bill's go I will try the Fox...if I still have the truck at that time lol.

You have to keep throwing anti rust stuff to them, winters can be brutal for certain parts. fluid film is good for the underbody, on shocks/coilovers you can use Boeshield T-9, spray away and remove the excess with a rag. i used to spray every month or so. The 12OZ can is $25 from Amazon but it's good chit to protect your shocks for example. It doesn't smell like fluid film and it shines too :) in your case you have a lot of cleaning to do given the conditions they're in.

Settles it I'm never moving to NY :)

I will nicely just say... Yeah. NY was never in the running... ;)

Speaks volumes about these coils though. That is pretty impressive for that level of abuse.
