I was just quoted $525 for Bilstein installation with alignment from a local shop. I think I'm gonna go for it. Probably go with the 2.1 setting. Originally I was gonna go with a lift but decided I don't want to go with a tire much over 34". Maybe in the future I will ad a zone lift.

That price is with the shocks. I'm waiting to hear from another shop also.

If I were you.. I'd go over to jet.com and buy the bilstiens... Ifr and eaglechief both just bought a set there for $145! Best price you'll find. The shop will attempt to make money off the sell. My next piece of advise would be do the install yourself. If you don't think you can, then shop around for install price. I find it very reasonable to pay for 2 hrs of work for this, I can do it and I'm no mechanic. Alignment can also be shopped for.

Edit: Imo, under $250 is reasonable.

Ouch that's pricey. Maybe your location as well. Here in northern va they charge an arm and a leg for this work as well.

I think people get into business to make money. If they can't make a profit, they go out of business. Then there would be no one around to install the shocks.

I installed my Bilstien's myself , I am a mechanic by trade , not automotive. .. I'd probably charge $250-$300 for the install with alignment if customer supplied the parts .... & aprox $500 -$ 550 If my shop purchased the shocks .

Shocks-$150
Alignment- $69.95-$89.95(depending on where)
Labor-$280=$140 per side
Total-$500 app.
Pretty reasonable to me---

I just ordered my bils off of jet.com and paid $141 and the shop that's doing my install is $1500 for tires mounted and balanced and my bils to be installed.

On a side note... I was quoted $600 for the superlift install (includes alignment). I was expecting around $800.

Damn I cant believe you guys are paying that much, but it doesn't surprise me, the other day I went to a shop to see if they had cubes and they wanted to charge me $150 for a pair, I laughed at the guy and said I can buy 6 for $150. But men any shop shouldn't take more than an hour per side and specially if they are familiar and do lifts all the time prob even less and how much is the hourly rate, less than $100 im guessing, I have never used a mechanic. I would say $200 for install is reasonable
