hey fellas....my first post but been lurkin around for a while now.....moving on...

I have a 12' ram 1500 CC 4wd. In the process of having an RCX 6" installed. My wheel/tire set up will be toyo oc r/t 37x13.50r20, fuel octane 20x12 -44....now, I'm already expecting some rubbing. I'm also having bilsteins installed to help with leveling out....question is, do the bils mount right up or is there any other mods that go into installing them? I heard there may be a mod to the ball joints.

Thx in advance!

Being a 2012 you shouldn't have any ball joint issue

You have to disassemble the stock strut to use the hardware on the Bilstein. Once it's all reassembled you'll bolt the RCX strut spacer to them and then throw them in the truck. Pretty straight forward.

Also, just an FYI... you're going to be rubbing quite a bit and will need to do some trimming.

Ya that's what I figured.... Planned on trimming the bumper/valance and inner wheel well....any other areas I should expect? I don't mind the trimming if it will give me the appearance I'm going for.

You'll definitely be trimming the bumper/valance and inner fender plastic along with the pinch weld. It's going to take quite a bit to make that setup work.

I'm running an 8" lift on my 3500 (equivalent to a 11-12" lift on a 1500) with 22x12 -40 offset and 37x13.5's and I had to trim the plastic on the back of my fender flare where it wraps around the pinch weld. I just barely clear the pinch weld at full lock.

You won't clear by any means with that setuo

Not without a lot of cutting... but it is possible.

Brandonjansen do you happen to have pics of where you had to trim by chance?

Here's a couple pics I snapped. The first one was just before I cut it. The black line marks where I cut. The second is what it currently looks like. Excuse the mess of the truck... I was on a job site this morning driving through the mud...

I still do rub if I hit a bump while turning... but for everything else it clears. I do want to find out where it's still rubbing and see if I can take care of that too.

Thx bro....looks like my truck will definitely be going under the knife. I've had 35's and 37's on trucks in the past and I just think 35's are too small for my liking. If I gotta chop the **** outta that thing that's what's gonna happen lol

Hah ya yours will definitely be going under the knife more than mine did. I was actually surprised I had to trim at all with the amount of lift I have...

You'll be cutting more plastic for sure and probably that pinch weld as well. It's worth it though.
