Guys I need some help on this. Local shop told me that I cant run the bilsteins on my 2017 sport. Apparently they dont make them. Issues with the UCA. I can only do a 1.5" spacer kit which really is not what I was looking at. Has anyone done bilsteins on their 17' or is there some truth to what this guy has told me.

Lol... sorry but find a new mechanic / shop. I just put bilsteins on my new 2017 (not even 100miles on the odometer ) and it fits in perfectly . I think he was trying to say is your upper arms ball joint over time will wear out faster , but there are many people still running their stock upper arms with bilsteins with no issues.

You could always contact Bilstein. They will verify for you.

Bils at 2.1 should be no issue. Lots of people running that setup including myself

Bils at 2.8 where one would recommend upgrading UCA's

Good luck

As the others have already stated, there's no change in the front suspension between 2013 and 2017 1500's. So they'll bolt up no problem.

You don't need new UCA's with the Bilsteins either as they limit the front suspension travel to OEM specs. It's the overextension of the front suspension that you get with spacer type leveling kits that cause the ball joints to pop out.

Thanks for the info. Now its just a matter of whether to level or just drop the cash and lift it.

I did rough country level kit. Feels like factory ride, seriously. However I did same day I did wheels and tires. I also don't jump truck, occasionally go through mud but not hard core off roading, no idea if makes diff?

Yeah like syntec said, 2.1 is where you'll be fine and 2.8 is where you should upgrade the UCA. Some guys don't have issues doing 2.8 on stock UCA but it's not worth the risk for .7 more unless you have mevoteck or zone UCA. If you have the money I'd do the zones
