Trying to visualize different lifts for my very long 1500 (crew cab + 6'4" bed) truck and while it seems very hard to find photos of lifted 1500s like this, I've run across a LOT of 2500s and 3500s in this cab/bed configuration, so I'm trying to figure out how to compare the 2500/3500s I'm seeing to 1500 size lifts and could use some help.

I think this look is about what I'm hoping to achieve:

According to the source, this is a 2.5" leveling kit on a 3500 with 35" tires. It looks like it retains a bit of the factory rake (esp. since it looks like he's carrying 4 big tires in the back), though maybe it's just the angle, but I would like to retain a couple inches of rake on my truck.

Here's another photo of a similar look on a 2500 though I've no idea what the specs of this one are:

So my question is basically: what do you guys think would be the most equivalent lift for this look on a Ram 1500? [email protected]? 4"? 6"?

Thanks!

My dad has a mega cab 2500 with a 2.5" level and I have the 4.5" spindles on my 1500. Fender height is about the same between the two.

Cab config is not the same as your scenario but they are pretty close to estimate I believe

I'm going 2.5" higher in the front for 37s so I plan to be taller than his in the next week :)

Good luck!

I know mines a 3rd gen but just for comparison, mine has a 6" lift and 35's and my buddies cummins has a 2.5" level and 35's. Mine only sits a tad higher.

probably a 4" lift kit. maybe a tad more. what size tires do you plan on running?

i get that finding pics of crew cabs with 6.5' beds is tough, let alone lifted ones, but your better off looking at pics of 1500's and trying to visualize a longer bed, imo. youll get a more accurate representation of what to expect from different suspension set ups. not to mention the different hoods and bumpers on the 2500's make the truck look bigger then a 1500, even with comparable lifts. just something to consider.

Like stated above, if you want the stance in the pics, you'll need a 6" lift. I've got a 4" on my 1500 and it's about the same height as my '10 2500 was with 295/70/17 Toyo MT's on the stock suspension. I know this because they both just barley fit in my garage and the covered one at work.........

I've been planning on 35s.

I do agree with you on this and it's not like I'm not also looking at 1500s. I've been looking at a lot of them. I've actually got a google spreadsheet started with just 1500 lifts I'm finding online with all the info I can gather on them for comparisons (okay maybe I'm a little obsessive-compulsive lol). I just got frustrated looking around for a lifted truck like mine and decided to try searching for 2500/3500s like mine and lo and behold, there were dozens and dozens! :hmm: I just didn't know how to compare those with my truck. :)

Maybe I'm misunderstanding, but it seems like you're asking how high you should go, to get the same look/wheel gap as the 2500 with level kit. I think a 4" would be your best bet for that look.

IMO

Yes, that's basically what I'm asking. I am kind of leaning the direction of a 4" Superlift, but everyone 'says if you're on the fence, go with the 6' (plus I'm not sure I've ever heard anyone say they have too much lift.) :D

If you want to sit at the equivalent height of a leveled 2500/3500 you'll be going with a 6" lift and 35's. The new 2500/3500's sit about 3" higher than a stock 1500. So putting a 2.5" level on them is equivalent to 5.5" of lift on a 1500 which is exactly what a Zone 6" kit will give you on the front end without using Bilsteins to lift it any higher.

If you want a raked look go with a Zone 6" kit and 5" rear coils. If you want it closer to level go with a Zone 6" kit and 3" rear coils.

Also agree with the posts above, 4" lift ain't gonna get you the look of a leveled 2500.

When I was shopping, I measured a few trucks on the lot. The front fender of the 1500 is typically 36.5"-37" and the 2500 is 40.25"-40.75". So close to 4" difference stock. Same story in the back, 40" vs 44".

I really think some of you guys are confused with the question. Since I confirmed what hes actually asking...

He wants the "look" of a leveled 2500, not the actual "height". That would be a 4" lift. But most would say (including me) to just get the 6" and be happy.

IMO

At the top of the lifted thread there is a sticky titled " lifted 4th gen pics...show em off". Most of them are 4" and 6" lifts with details listed. You may be able to find what you're looking for there. I can't imagine the standard cc 5'7" bed and 6'4" bed would look too different height wise.
