At my present location overseas I have very minimal Internet access so I can't do a whole lot of surfing researching stuff.

But I really do appreciate the benefit of coming here and asking Ram owners questions.

I figure 4 inch lift when I get back. I'll probably never do much off roading.

Is there a general consensus on what brand most people choose?

The local lift shop recommended zone off-road I realize he gets money by pushing the product he sells but he said it's a sub company of bds.

The kit runs about $1400.

I came across Mopar and they are twice as much.

I see rough country advetized a lot but i was cautioned not to get it.

Perhaps there's a dozen or more lift kits that people like or maybe the consensus narrows it down to two or three. No idea

I certainly don't have to buy the most expensive kit but I don't want to buy the bottom one either.

I appreciate any opinions anyone cares to offer.

Thanks.

Zone is a very nice lift. Just another thought of you wanted a beefier look. Check out Bilsteins set at 2.8 with a 3/4" rear spacer. Just under a 3 inch "lift" And you can still fit 35" tires.

The Mopar lift is just a rebranded Superlift for 3x the cost. Superlift and Zone are both good options. Most would recommend them over RCX. However, the RCX guys seem to like theirs.

Good suggestion. I am not ashamed to admit it. My truck is a commuter vehicle.

I will not be looking to off road mich. just want it to look better than stock.

I guess the compromise is when you lift trucks depending on what lift you use you may or may not get quicker wear and tear on suspension parts. I hope to get better understanding of this before I actually do anything.

Supposedly I can level the truck and put 35's on my sock 20 inch wheels. But the tire will not stick out at all

But if I choose aftermarket wheels with a level I can only put 33 on there but they will stick out a inch or so.

I really want to get the aftermarket wheels so your suggestion might be perfect

That's pretty much backwards. In order to run 35's on stock rims you'd have to run spacers, which would stick them out. Will vary depending on spacer size and tire width you go with, etc.

And no problem running 35's on a lot of aftermarket rims, provided they don't have a huge positive offset.

Consensus on 4" lift.

Loved my 4" Mopar (Superlift). Comes with Bilsteins on all 4 corners. Ended up adjusting them to 1.4 and was running 35s on her. Paid $1865 for everything. BDS, Zone, or Superlift is what most would recommend. My biggest gripes with RCX lift on these trucks is that the rear they just pop in a spacer. No control arm brackets. Causing your rear angles to be all off. b2bd5f24734798d70c627b67f6a920c4.jpgas you can see there are no drop brackets even on their 6" lift. Also the 4" with Bils at 1.4" puts you at a true 5" lift. Sits 1" lower front and rear than a 6" on the same size tires. Measured a few people's I've ran into. But like stated above, some people like their RCX lift. I mean I'm running their 2 1/2" level on my new truck, although it's temporary until I get Power Wagon springsa9d2a718c7196f55812b708b7229b540.jpg

I've got the 4" Superlift & am very happy with it. You won't go wrong with Superlift, Zone or BDS.

For winter I used the stock 20's with 275-65-20's & 1.5" spacers. I could have puts 35's on the stock rims but wanted a narrower tire for the snow.

+1 on the Bils if you go the Superlift route

Love my 4" Superlift, though as stated can't go wrong with Zone or BDS either........

I'm going down the 4" path as well but waiting to see what Black Friday offers. Autoanything is cheapest now with 15% off and free shipping- around $1700 I think. Great thread, thanks.

Some one suggested bills at 2.8 with a spacer on the back. It would be a near 3" lift.

Not sure if a 35" would look beefy or crowded My lifted truck buddy is really cautioning me agaist 35"s. Tells me to just level it it and put 33"s on. He considers me take off fast kind of driver i guess.

I consider doing that but I think the stock tires on there already are 33's. So trade my stock AT tires for a little more aggressive tire like a toyo RT thats basically the same height?
Not sure i see any fun in that.

Getting smart on lifts is not easy it's a bit of a rabbit hole. I see a lot of parts listed but knowing which part is lacking is not obvious to me yet.

For instance does any one see there is something obviously lacking on the Zone 4"?

I will not be back in the states for awhile yet but i am obsessing a bit. Cant wait. .

Another cool thing with superlift. If you want to go from 4" to 6" lift, all you do is buy their 5" rear springs and adjust the front bils to 2.8".

They have a good warranty also.

If you do he bils at 2.8 and a rear cool spacer I would suggest a 275 65 r20. I think it's an upgrade over stock and isn't quite a 35" tire. I personally think the 35 x12.5 looks stuffed on a leveled truck. I believe on average the 275 65r20 measures right over 34" tall. When researching this forum I believe you will find that's a very popular for us leveled guys.

Here's a zone 6in lift and 3in rear. The place only charged me 1400 for it. Labor with alignment was like 800. I got the lift, rims, tires and labor all for 4600. I know you want a 4 in but the 6in looks better!

Another possible way is he could still get the 4" Zone with 3in rear spring, Bils @ 2.1 and be just about same height as the 6in with rear 3in. Yet if he wanted to go up higher at some point to a 5" spring in rear wouldn't suggest a 4inch. I am looking to just stay at 6" not higher so planning on that 4/3 zone with Bils setup come the spring.
