You will get answers going both ways. For the $100, I just replaced the UCA's with mevotech ones and was done with it. Wanted it to be a all in one shot thing.

Here are the part numbers. You can get them from carID shipped for $90. ImageUploadedByTapatalk1418921060.950369.jpg

You shouldn't have any UCA problems with this lift, given that the only extra ball joint extension will come from the very small strut shim. The rest of the front lift comes from a spring preload spacer.

That said, you get what you pay for. This will give you lift but it will definitely stiffen the ride as well. It retains the stock shock and adds tons of preload to the spring, not a good combination for ride quality. If you care about such things...

If it were mine, I would forget about the spacer lift and the new UCAs. Buy Rancho QLL ($?) or Bilsteins (@ 2.1") at ~$200 per pair. Great ride, reliable, no issues.

Think the ranchi QLL are around $300 shipped.

Op, I did the Bilsteins leveling struts. It was $177 shipped from carID also. No, I'm not pushing that place. It's just the cheapest I found. I was going to do the spacer, but opted for the bils instead.

I had a 13 Ram 4x4 with a regular 2" too mount spacer. I started to notice the ball joint coming up after I put about 13k miles on it. I would just do a set of the Mevotechs as mentioned since they are cheap and will save you from having to do them later. I ended up trading in my truck so I never fixed mine. Also mentioned if you have a spacer in the spring and on top it may not ride as smooth as stock I haven't tried that kit personally so I can't be sure I know with just the 2" spacer on top mine rode like stock

will i get any problems with that? would i need new UCA's or ball joints with bils?

No problem on just getting the front BILS. That's all I did. A neat thing about the the BILS is that my truck no longer rolls thru a corner. It's much better then stock. I plan on the rears when the weather warms up.

As far as just using the BILS, that's a chance you can take. Guys here have and some were fine, others had the ball joints pop. All depends. I didn't want to even mess with that, so I just replaced them since I had the struts out anyways.

There is less of a chance of the ball joint coming out due to the pre-load design of the bilstein. This keeps downtravel from going too extreme angles which the upper control arms were never designed to reach. I ran a 2.5" spacer for 8,000 miles and had the ball joint pop up. I ordered bilsteins and set them at 2.8" and pressed my ball joints back into the proper position. I've put 5,000 miles on them and some hard off road driving and they haven't popped out. I did check the joints the other day and there was play in the ball joint itself, but they are still in the proper position. I think this came from the miles w/ the spacer and the hard driving I do during hunting season. I Got mevotech UCA's coming but I don't think I would have had a problem If I would have started w/ a pre-load style kit (bilstein, rancho, pro comp etc.) especially if it were only a set at around 2" of lift. Plus I heard they have updated the arm design. But I believe I heard that about the 12's and mine had the same issue. Good Luck!

Don't waste your money on the spacers. You can get a pair of the 5100s for about $200 and ride great.
Also if you plan to install a true suspension lift later you can still use the 5100s to set the lift how you'd like.

I just think the spacers are garbage.

I've got the rough country lift/level on my '12. No issues at all and fit 305/55 R20's.

Ride is stiffer, but it rides like a truck now! :)

Hey y'all, I'm new to this forum and wanted to say that iv got the Pro Comp adjustable shocks on my 2012 and am very pleased with them. I spent around $350 for mine cause I bought the rear shocks also. They clear my 295/55R20 Nitto Trail Grapplers no problem and ride great for having mud terrains.
