I know there are threads on this topic. I have read a bunch of them. Just wanted to ask a couple questions real quick. I have a 2014 Ram 1500 Quad Cab 4WD.

Is the Bilstein 5100's all I need to level my truck?

Do I have to worry about changing the UCA's like if I was doing a kit?

What is the biggest tires I can go with the 5100's set at 2.1 with the factory 20 inch rims?

What shock do you guys recommend for the rear?

The Bilsteins are all that you need to level, however on the 2013+ trucks many guys have had issues of the top ball joint separating from the Upper Control Arm so most guys install Mevotech UCA's at the same time they do the bilsteins just for cheap insurance.

At 2.1" you can fit up to 35's but the width is what will get you and cause you to rub with factory wheels. 295/65/20 is a good bet for the "biggest" height x width you can run on a leveled truck. That's a 35 x 12

My bilsteins are set at 2.8" and I'm running 295/65/20 trail grapplers on stock 8" wide alloy rims.

When I did the 5100 leveling shocks on the front I changed my rears out with 5100's as well. I like uniformity so that made the most sense to me.

My Bilsteins are set at 2.1 and I did the Mevotechs just for added insurance. Almost a year and no issues. Knock on wood :)

Have you heard of people saying replacing all four improve ride quality more than just replacing the fronts?

I did only the bilsteins at 2.1. I figure my truck won't see any harsh off-roading so if my ball joints pop I will then upgrade to mavotechs. Other members have gone quite some time now with no ball joint issues on the stock uca's with bilsteins

Most people recommend to replace all 4 at once just so that they are all the same age and you don't have them all wearing out at different times. I did it partly for that reason but mainly because of my OCD.

Replace all four shocks to same . Like wearing two different shoes; one work boot and one sandal.

You want the shocks to behave the same way, not one set working differently than the other. having differing shocks will simply allow one set to wear out the other, quicker.

I have the front bilsteins on my ram set at 1.4 now with my zone lift but for the past close to two years I ran them at 2.8 with 35x12.5x20 tires on Moto metal 970 -24 offset wheels and had no problems. Only had slight rub on drivers side at full lock.
