I told myself I was not going to lift my new truck at all. But I've about made up my mind to just level it. I'm NOT changing the tires or wheels which I know is a big factor on fuel mileage since most aftermarket tires/wheels are heavier. But, if I just level the front of my truck ('17 1500 sport) will my MPGs take a hit? That's really all I'm concerned about.

Yes. It's only about 1mpg though. Maybe 2.

Shouldn't even worry about it if you're leaving everything else stock. May look a little funny with the smaller wheels/tires combo. but you may want to change that at a later date.

When you get a truck, MPG isn't normally the 1st thing people worry about! LOL

This is my 7th truck lol. I've lifted 3 of my previous trucks and got the real bad MPGs out of my system. Which is why I'm trying to keep this truck as decent on fuel as I can. But I gotta at least level it lol

Yes, it will lower your MPG, and can potentially be more than 1 - 2 MPG, it heavily depends on where you are, what elevation you're at, and what size tires you run. IF you just level, and keep your tires, you're not looking at much, but when you start getting into bigger tires, HEAVIER tires, you're going to see numbers you thought only existed in 1980's dually gassers :p

Leveled with stock tires ad wheels , I avg 18.5-19.5 mpg I get 22-23 long road trips , sometimes on winter fuel and lots of in town driving I can avg as low as 16 -17 mpg .

I've lost Zero mpg since my level.

Yillbs above is correct on larger tires and diff wheels weighing more will drop your mpg , depending on your driving style it can be significantly lower 3-4 mpgs .

Lol. It does look way better leveled. But after my horrendous mileage I got with my '16 truck that I put a zone lift on with 35s I told myself I was not going to do any type of lift on this new truck...but dang, I sure want to just level it lol

What's your setup? stock tires/wheels or aftermarket? Any other exterior mods other than the leveling kit?

6inch full suspension lift, new control arms , longer knuckles , etc. 35 inch Toyo mt tires , some lights in the grill, full exhaust , I'm about 6140 pounds fully loaded with my in the cab at about 195 pounds. I have airbags so I'm closer to 7 inches , it's a good ride, and tows like a dream :) but... its expensive as hell to operate

I would think that it would affect gas mileage some because you are changing the aerodynamics but I don't think it would be that much. As you know from other replies the big hit is bigger heavier tires and wheels or the type of tires. More aggressive tires have a higher rolling resistance

To add to this. It also depends on where your driving is. City driving won't be much different, but highway will see the biggest hit.

^^ important, even with heavy 35" tires, and 6 inch lift, I still get 19-20 MPG when going 35-45MPH.

I don't see how. With my '16 that I put a 4" zone lift on with 35" Toyo RTs, I was getting 10mpg average around town and 12ish on highway..
