hello everyone,

New '15 1500 V8 (non-air) owner here.

Just looking to clear 35's and thought the 4" Zone lift was a solid comprise between cost and quality.

tried searching for information on minimum requirements for fitting 35's with a level stance, but couldnt find much. Not interested in any cheap body lifts or low quality options.

Also, why are so many people running the 6" vs the 4" ?? any major reasons?

Thanks,

You can clear 35s with a 4 inch, alot of people clear 35s with just a level and trimming. I assume people run 6 vs 4 due to being almost the same cost, but you get more height.

Don't really know the minimum to run 35's.
As for the 6" vs 4" thing; a lot of people find that after being lifted 4" for a while, they want to go bigger.
For example, I've been at 6" with 35's for a little over a year, and I'm already thinking of adding more and going to 37's.
If you think you'll be fine with 4" long term, that's fine. But, if you think there is even a slight chance you may want to go bigger, it's cheaper in the long run to just get the 6" and only buy one lift.

Here is a great site to plug in search criteria for lift height, tires and wheels.

I had 35's and a level without a problem. Worst case you'll have to do some plastic trimming. Not bad at all. My advice - don't go 4". Go 6" right away

Thanks,

First, in order to decide what lift will yield your "level stance", you need to measure the difference in height from front fender height to ground -vs- rear fender height to ground (or wheel center), most are about 3" higher in rear but it does vary.

The Zone 4" kit alone will not get you level, hence why most here add Bilstein 5100 adjustable height struts ($100ea). Most set them at 1.4" to 2.1" to get a level stance, or less for a slight rake.

The Zone 6" kit is offered in a 3/6 (rear 3" lift & front 6" lift) which will get you level right out of the box.

The 6" kit is also offered in a 5/6 (rear 5" lift & front 6" lift) which will not get you level unless your measured diffference was only 1". This will keep the rear of the truck higher which some like that look. Some members also add the Bilstein 5100 adjustable height struts and set them at 2.1" to 2.8" to get a level stance but at a much taller height (rear 5" lift & front approx 7.5" lift). With the Bilsteins adjusted up you can now run a 37" tire.

To fit 35's all you need is a 4" kit, or the 3/6 kit. As stated with the 6" kit you could always go higher, just add longer rear shocks, coils and add the front Bilsteins. The Zone 6" kit just seems more flexible to your needs imo.

The 4" and 3/6" kits are only about $100 difference, but if you want the 4" kit to be level you'll need to buy $200 bilsteins so now your cost is $100 more than the 3/6 kit....hence why a lot buy the Zone 6" kit.

That's one of the reasons I went with the 6/3 instead of the 4 inch

Do you guys run aftermarket UCA's as well? assuming you'd want those for 37's, i noticed that Zone offers those as part of the 6' lift

Right on. This post should be a sticky. Couldn't have said it any better.

Some say you really only need to upgrade the UCA's when you have the front Bilsteins on the higher setting. However, a lot of members go ahead and install the mevotech brand UCA (stock forged replacement arm) or the heavy duty Zone arms that have BJ angle correction built in the design. It's cheap insurance to at least buy the Mevotechs since they are only $38ea. Zone is great if it's in your budget. If your doing a lift or level, you already have the upper BJ disconnected so it's a perfect time to upgrade the UCA.

There's many active threads on UCA's, click a few and read read read :)

Here's my truck with the setup you were describing. 4" zone lift with 35's. Just got it back from the shop today. Don't mind how dirty she is, that is about to change shortly. 7903fc56603d649489bf0d06d19a16ee.jpg

Running a 4" Superlift here. Went with 4" so I could fit the rig in my garage.

Very happy with the choice though.

My Lord can we trade? I have a thing for your exact setup. I keep promising myself my next Ram won't come to my house unless its white, 4" lift, flares, sport hood and 35's haha

Sweet ride. 20x10 -12 Fuel Mavericks by chance? This truck sits very well. I think I am stopping at 4" myself now, and maybe crank my billies down from 2.8 to something lower.

Fuel Renegades 20x10 -24. It's a tough angle in that picture to see them. I went with the 3" springs in the back rather than the 2" spacers. I'm happy with how it turned out and how it sits.

My lil guy barely fits in the garage...

6" BDS w/ 37's

Had to put a low profile antenna on, which bumps the bottom of the door.

Zone 4 inch lift with 35's. A 6 inch lift is only 1 inch difference.
