I am looking to lift my Ram a bit to get more of a truck look. It is a 4x2. I want more than a leveling kit but not something over the top. Anyone in my area (Sarasota, FL) with a 3-5" lying around or a suggestion on a brand that you have had good luck with?

Maxtrac suspension has awesome products and quality. But I'm pretty sure it's either a 2.5" front lift to level with the rear.. or a 4.5" front lift and 2.5" rear. They call it their 7" lift.

CST has a 4" front lift spindle which you'll be able to use you're stock springs and shocks and a 1.5" rear spacer. Think they claim it to be a 4" lift.

Semi-related question??
What is the best 2" leveling kit out there for a 2012 1500 4×2? Just bought one and the oversized wheels & tires cause it to rub the top of the wheel well on occasion.

Not sure if you would ever consider lifting the truck even more?.. but your "best" kit, might be a different opinion of my "best" kit. I would choose the Maxtrac 2.5" front lift with the Bilsteins shocks. Why? Well for two reasons..

1. The ride would be better than stock. If you just throw a coil spacer on top of the spring you will sacrifice shock travel and ride comfort. Cheaper yes... not worth the sacrifice to me.

2. The best part about the Maxtrac 2.5" front lift is that you are half way there if you ever wanted to do the 7" lift. All you would need would be the front 4.5 spindles and the 3" rear lift. Almost like a à la carte lift. I've heard great things about both companies, but I can tell you first hand that my Maxtrac 7" lift rides better than stock.

Thanks! I appreciate the feedback. The truck isn't lifted at all right now. Who ever replaced the wheels & tires didn't bother to lift it at all. It's part of the reason I ask. And may be the reason I got the truck for such a cheap price. 2012 5.7 HEMI crew cab, 44,000 miles. Custom wheels & tires, Flowmaster exhaust Flowmaster intake, K&N air filter. Git it for $16,850.

That's a really good price if it's in good condition. $16k is about the trade in value of a 2012 CC SLT model.. so yeah. Good price! Get it and lift it! :naughty:

I'm just trying to add a couple inches to the front for tire clearance. It might look strange lifted that hi with the wheels currently on it.

I'm missing 2 cylinders
Maxtrac offers a great kit. I'm running the 4.5 inch system

The way your truck sits with those rims and tires.. it actually might look funny even leveled to be honest. It looks good right now.. when are you rubbing and what size tires you running?

I second the question on the wheels and tires. You have a side picture of that truck. From that pic, it almost looks lowered.

It's not lowered but it has oversized wheels & tires. Not sure of the size. I'm still new to the truck world so I gotta learn sizes. But, it needs a leveling kit on the front because of the wheels.

Are those 285/55-22 tires? If so, the actual size of the tire is nut very much larger than the stock 275/65-20's. However, the stock wheels have a +19offset and your aftermarket 22" rims might tuck in just a slight bit. I bet those rims have a +18 to +22 offset.

If you're set on those rims. if those are indeed 285/55-22 tires, you could throw a coil spacer on the front to level it. However, you will limit the travel of the shock and you will sacrifice the ride comfort. They also have been reports of them failing. Here is what coil spacers look like:

Daystar Front Coil Spacers

The correct way to do it would be to replace the front coil and/or front coils and shocks. You will get the 2.5" level, but will not sacrifice the ride comfort. CST suspension states you can use the stock shocks with their lift coils. Maxtrac sells the shocks and lift coils for about the same price and are designed to work in conjunction:

CST Suspension Front Coils Only
Maxtrac Suspension Front Coils and Shocks

What size tires are those and what make rims? Reason why it's important is that you might be able to run a front wheel spacer to give you enough clearance. What makes you want to level it? Cosmetic? Rubbing? Personal Choice? etc. etc.

They're 305/45 R22 tires with KMC wheels. The website states 2013-2017 year models on the kit. Mine is a 2012. Would the coil springs still fit?

Thanks for the recommendation! I ordered the Maxtrac front coils & shocks figuring this is the best way to avoid the bottoming out problem I've been experiencing since buying the truck and keeping the smooth ride. I'll post pics once complete. Then, on to fix the headlight aim issue and put some running boards on it.
