Ok so I have had my RCX 6" lift sitting in my garage for 2 months waiting to be installed due to my kids having sports, school etc. Finally started it today after work. Did the rear, took me 4 hours. The track rod bracket was a PITA due to the 3 holes that needs to be drilled out. I had to remove my rear exhaust tip due to it being 5" wide. I also stretched the damn drivers side ABS wire but luckily it didn't throw a code. Needed to remove a couple more clips. I'm off on Sunday so I will be doing the front probably all day. Lol! Here's some pics, don't mind the truck being dirty, fender flares left a mark. I'll clean it up when the front gets done. Right now it looks like a hot rod, but not for long. Anyone know if it makes a difference whether the shock body is mounted in the up or down position . The instructons pictured the body mounted in the top position while my stock shocks were mounted the other way around.

The shock body on my Zone lift has it on the bottom, but my instructions were not clear also. Looking at pictures online everyone has the shock body on the bottom.

Here is a video that RCX has provided for installing the lift:

Great progress so far!

Here's the rear shock instructions clearly pictured shocks being upside down. That is how I installed them. If it has a detrimental affect I can correct it. What do you guys think?

Body mounted towards a frame is the correct way. I had to mount my body down due to the fact that it rubbed against my mounting bracket on the frame.

The front is a whole other animal, if the rear took you 4 hours, the front will be done in July.

Lol! Probably.

Take your time. There is more drilling in your future if you didnt already know. As well if Im not mistaken on the 6" kit, a sawzall :superhack:

Read the directions a few times, the more you have in memory the faster it will go.

Yeah, the only thing I'm worried about is making a straight enough cut. I'll be using an ATV jack to drop the diff. Using power tools also so I dont struggle with the upper diff bolts. Lol!

For the front axle nut they say it's 35mm but my 35mm is a little small. It doesn't sit on the the nut like it should. I'll try tapping it with a hammer. My 36mm fits but it has just a small amount of play. Any suggestions? It's night time as I type this. I was just fitting the socket to see if I had the right size.

You probably already have it off but it is indeed a 35mm socket. I had to tap a few sockets onto the nuts with a rubber mallet.

Also run a bolt or a thread chaser in the upper three differential mounting holes so your bolts will go in easier. Mine had a lot of red lock tight in there.

Got it done last night. My story of how lifting the front went and pics to follow.
I need to extend my diff 4x4 plug. It is short by 2" because I have a 2" body lift. My question is, after I cut, splice and extend the harness, when I plug it in will the " SERVICE 4x4 light turn off? Or is there something that I need to do like pull the battery? I also have an OBD II scanner if the tool even can reset these types of light.
