Truck: 2013 Ram 1500 4x4 Longhorn Ed. w/ 5.7 Hemi

Story: I just bought a 2013 Ram 1500 with 20x9 Rockstar II rims and 33" tires. I am wanting to have a wide stance which is why I am wanting 20x12 -44 Moto Metal wheels. I found the wheels I want on Craigslist and the guy is willing to trade plus cash. The only problem is I am wanting 33" tires but he has 35" tires with 70% tread left. So far I have no lift on my truck but I am looking at getting new Struts considering I have 100,000 miles and 2 local shops told me I needed them.

Question: What lift should I go with in order to clear 35" tires with -44 offset until the tread dies down so I can downgrade to 33" tires without making my truck look unproportional? One shop was saying since I need new Struts I should go with Beilstein 5100 Adjustable shocks and they can take the place of a leveling kit. If I go with that would my ride feel less comfortable and should I go with a 3" body lift or a 4"-6" Rough Country suspension lift?

Use: I do like to go offroading from time to time. I love the wide stance of the -44 offset and its mainly for show.

With 20x12 -44 offset and 35's you'll need a 6" lift to clear them properly. Especially if you want to go offroading from time to time. Why do you want to go back down to a 33" tire after the 35's wear out? Why not just stick with 35's as that gets rid of some issues for you.

For struts I would definitely throw the Bilstein 5100's on there as you'll want them with the lift kit anyway.

For a lift take a look at Zone Offroad. Slightly more money than RCX but a far better product.

It's always a little worrying to me when someone goes into detail about rims... "20x12 -44 Moto Metal Wheels! And then its just "and some 35 inch tires".
