Bought a leveling kit and 2" quicklift strut, I have been trying to find answers as to whether or not I need new control arms. A few of my buddies are on the fence about having to buy new ones. Any answers and/or suggestions? Thanks 2012 ram 1500 crew cab sport

Mevotechs are cheap insurance but at 2" I wouldn't say it's mandatory

Edit- are you saying you're going to run a leveling kit and Quicklift struts??? Because that's no bueno

What do you recommend to use? I do not have leaf springs in the rear.

I bought a 2.5" leveling kit from rock auto and I also bought a 2" quicklift rancho strut with a pair of shocks for the rear. The leveling kit comes with spring spacers in the back and strut spacers for the front of the truck. I've been searching for lift kits and haven't found anything that has good reviews for this truck.

with a 2012 you don't have to worry about replacing the upper control arms.

For the front end you need to choose one or the other. Either the Rancho quicklift or the 2.5" leveling kit on your stock struts. You cannot stack the two you will have horrible geometry, very stiff ride and the truck probably won't align and will not be safe either. As far as the rear goes, that will be up to you if you want to put something in the rear or not. The truck will probably be level with the Rancho quicklift or the 2.5" leveling kit and nothing done to the rear so if you add a rear spacer you will have a rake again. I hope this makes sense and helps

Thank you, yes it's very helpful. I was going for about a 4" lift in the front and 2-2.5" in the front but couldn't find a good quality lift kit that wasn't robbing the bank. Do you have any suggestions?

No problem. I think BDS, Rancho & Superlift all make 4" kits for your 2012 Ram 1500 4wd you should check those companies out. Some of the other guys on here probably know the 4wd's a lot better than me though and I'm sure can give you some input as to who's kit is best

4"+ lifts "break the bank" BC they have to drop other components to fix the geometry as stated earlier. Simple leveling kits are cheap because they are just that, simple. A proper 5" or not kit will raise the truck and drop the differential, give your a taller spindle, etc etc.
