So my shocks don't have an adjustable collar. Appears these have an option to invert the collar to go a 2" difference either way (according to the lift shop).

The collar is longer on one end than the other. On my truck, the shorter end is facing down, with the longer end sitting behind the black bushing resting under the spring. I am trying to figure out if this is the lower setting. Truck is not level and appears to roughly have a 2" rake. Damn lift shop couldn't tell me unless they take it apart. $200 to get the job done or could be $100 to pull just one apart and put it back together to find out if it is already at the higher setting.

Kinda pissed since I went to a reputable local shop that has been around for decades and they can't even tell by looking at it. I assumed if you spent six figures on an eight year college education to learn how to lift trucks so you can make $100+ per hour swapping highly complicated suspension systems you would know this stuff??? (sarcasm).....:banghead:

Post a pic of your CV angles. If they are set at 0" they should be flat with the 6" Pro Comp lift.

Try finding the instructions online for that kit/struts, maybe they'll be some info so you could determine.

Not flat, but angle is extremely slight. IDK, didn't fork out the cash for the lifting trucks degree!! What do you think? Thanks.

Don't know the exact kit. Bought the truck with the lift. Guy who sold it to me said one of the shocks gave out shortly after install, so when he had it fixed he "upgraded" to these?

yes that's flat

Alright, well if that is the case, then from what I have been able to determine, that collar needs to be flipped to get the max lift. Will need to find more sources on that. I think i'd rather DIY and not take it to that shop, kinda irked me. Other option is 4 Wheel Parts, I'm sure they will gladly charge me $400. Not supporting that ridiculousness either.

Found it. Can't believe I didn't run in to this before. I thought the prorunners with the notches in the collar were different than the smooth collars, but they really aren't. So my truck has a 4" lift in the front at the moment.

I have no idea why the guy would have bought a 6" lift and installed them at 4"s. Was a younger guy and he was not towing anything. He also shaved the valance to fit the 35's. Makes no sense....

Anyhow, gotta look up DIY on this. If I can invert them in 4 hours, it will be worth my time!

If you like pro Comp I'd look into their coilovers, threaded adjustment just dial it in how you like. They are really easy to install yourself also.

I thought of switching them out, but I have no complaints with them so far. Truck rides smooth. It seems once I invert them I will be at a perfect level, or close enough and hopefully they will maintain a smooth ride. TBD. I'm like $1500 away from finishing all my mods, it has been a long haul and I can actually see the finish line! Hopefully will not have to revisit replacing these shocks!

He installed a 6" lift and set the shocks at 4"? Those shocks are stock height or plus 2.75". Is there not spacer on top of the strut? Measure the the spacer and measure the height of the front crossmember. That will give you an idea of what height lift it has.
Either a 4" kit with Pro runner shocks at 0" (you can go to 6.75" with the adjustment) or a 6" lift with shocks at 0", and you can goto 8.75" with adjustment.

Yeah, it doesn't make any sense that he would have done that. It is a 6" lift kit for sure. He was a young kid in the police force, no towing or hauling and just wanted a nice lifted truck. Sold only because he was getting married and buying a house.

That lift shop said that shock was 0" or 2" adjustment, but Im taking that with a grain of salt since he couldnt determine which way it was installed and I was able to confirm today with a little research that it is on the lower setting.

I measured wheel wells, with the flares it is not perfect, but I know I am off by about 2"s or so. The guy at the lift shop said he could tell it was not level by the bed slant and I agree with him.

Im always parked on a slant at home or work, so every picture I have makes it look level. Throwing some pics out anyway, doubt it is helpful. Maybe it is a little apparent on the pic without the flares. I am somewhat confident though that collar on the shock is at the lower setting, especially based off the pics in the pro comp link I posted. Always open to opinions on this. Just don't want to spend time flipping those collars to get no results, or worse off, a lower front end.

For the record. Inverted the collar and truck raised two inches and is now level. Longer side of the collar does need to be facing down.
