Hi all,

A couple of months back I got a 2013 1500 sport and would like to put either bilsteins or a hbs leveling kit on the front of the truck. I do make deliveries with the truck and carry 1200lb or more in the bed quite often. The truck is also used to carry my gear and tow my racebike in a trailer. Over the winter I'd also like to put a set of Toyo extremes in 305 55 20 on the stock rims. Which of these options would be best and would avoid being nose high when carrying a load.

Here is a pic of the truck loaded up.

Welcome to the forum!!

It looks like you are pretty squatted with the load you are carrying. Your rear shocks will not last long if you ride like that often. Airlift1000 air bags will help significantly. They do not add any extra payload capacity but they should give you enough extra support to keep up with the height of the front level you want to install.

I looked at those before getting the Airlift. They look like a good product but I went the cheaper route first. Turned out to be good enough for what I needed.

Airlifts are really easy to install too.

Thanks for the responses and advice. Yesterday I carried a little more than I have in the past and the truck was at its limit or at least beyond my level of comfort. I'll look into the airbags. Had i known that I'd be carrying these loads I would've gone with a diesel 2500 in the first place.

Here is a pic from yesterday.

Damn man..... I hope that weight your putting back there is for personal use and not work related? I would hate to see someone beat their truck up for work stuff.

That's a lot of weight... I think long term 2500 would have been better.

It's for work. I like having nice things but I also like to use them for their intended purpose. It's my business so the profit stays with me, if someone else was making money off of me using the truck then I probably wouldn't do it. I'll probably level the front and put some heavy duty springs on the back. The tires will be fitted tomorrow. Seems like the Toyos are back ordered so I am going with Nittos.

What would be the other option other than the airlift? Just looked at it and i dont like that you need to inflate and deflate. Is there anything on the market that will increase payload capacity?

I think since its ur business, long term would be a 2500..

Another idea, what about having a "work" trailer instead of having all of that in the bed?

I think a front level with some heavy duty springs out back should serve my needs.

Just tried to fit the Nitto 305 55 r20's on the stock rims at town fair tireand they don't fit unfortunately. They hit the control arms.

Do you have wheel spacers?

High capacity springs like the ones in the link on the first page claim to add 10 - 25% to the payload depending on brand. But... payload capacity is not set by just the springs... the rest of the components (axle, hubs, rims, tires, brakes, etc...) combined make the payload rating.

No I don't. I am going to go with aftermarket wheels instead. I am trying to figure out what offset to get.

I've Ordered the bilsteins for the front and heavy duty springs with a 25% payload increase.

Which Nitto's did you try to fit?
I have Nitto Terra's 305/55 R20's on my 2014 4x4 oem sport rims and they do not rub or touch any of the panels or suspension/steering components.

Terra grappler a/t. The same ones you have on your truck. Weird.
