I recently re-geared my 1500 to 4.56's. I got the gears through Moe's Performance, as another member told me that they make 4.56's that will fit in a 1500. I had a shop put them in and they said they looked well made. I had them serviced after a 500 mile break-in and they weren't making any metal and the shop said they were pleased all around.
Thanks to the members that prodded me into making the switch. Stock were 3.22's. As was predicted, the truck drives great now. Used to be sluggish with the stock gears and 40 inch tires, but not anymore. Very noticeable improvement in the response. Gas mileage remained the same too.
Hope this helps if anyone else is considering swapping.

Thanks for sharing, I've got the dreaded 3.21 / 6 speed combo. After my 35's get installed this week I'll see how bad it is, the 4.56's look like a great setup to regain lost power.

Considering doing this after I install my lift and 37's. I've got the 3.55's with 6-Speed so I shouldn't be TOO bad.

Edit, I originally had 3.55's in the truck not 3.22's. It is a 4x4.
I went to OK4WD in Phillipsburg. Parts and labor was $3200.00 (Of which about $1500.00 was labor). I have a friend that had some work done there and he had no issues. Looking at reviews online I couldn't fine any negatives, although some said they're a little over priced. But IMO everything in NJ is overpriced. I had looked into two other shops (One in NJ and one in NY) and the one in NY flat out said they don't like doing differentials because of the precision needed. The other placed just seemed like a dump.
For what its worth, after I had the work done, yet another friend of mine told me about a place called Tony's 4x4 in Wallington. I may take it there in the future for service. I live near beautiful Paterson and getting out to Phillipsburg and dropping my truck is a pain in the ass.

I know exactly where Phillipsburg is as I used to go to Easton each weekend. $3200 is 1/2 the cost of my supercharger. As long as the work is great, I have no worries about the cost. :)

Both places from me are between two hours and fifteen minutes, and two hours and forty eight minutes.

As I said, so far so good. This was the first time the shop used Moe's Performance 4.56's but they said they went in nicely and seemed well made.

Be careful when choosing a drivetrain shop. Nobody wants to overspend for labor, but I cant tell you how many people have complained about gear whine over the years with every brand of gears simply because the shop that installed them didnt know how to set them up.

See sadly that is what I'm facing where I live. That's why I want a shop that specializes in doing Ram gear swaps. It's like for my Subaru, the shops I deal with ONLY do Subaru !!!!!

What would it take to do this gear swap in a 2014 1500?

I have 3.92's and 35" tires and would love the 4.56 swap..even a 4.87 would suit me!

The 4.56's will go in any 06-10 1500 diff? Also, I thought I read in another gear change thread that the carrier mounts were different from 10-14 model years, I have a superlift 4" lift, will a 06-10 work for my truck and lift?
Yes and yes. Check out my thread, you have to get both the 06-10 diff right back Driver side and weld it to your 14 bracket

I'm sure your response time is like night and day

What kind of lift do you have that will allow you to run 40s?
is it custom or do you just rub like a mfer
