ya i wanna run 35x12.5x20 toyo open country mud tires but im scared its gonna rub too much. im thinkin maybe a wheel spacer might take care of that problem but im not sure.

You should be able to run 35s easy as long as they're not too wide. If you have stock 20s then you already have 33s

if you want to run a 12.5" wide tire on stock wheels you will absolutely need a wheel spacer or the tire will rub on the upper control arm

I ran this same size on the stock wheels for a couple months. These measure at 12.2" wide, that's the absolute widest you can go without running wheel spacers. To run 12.5" tires, you'll need 1/4" spacers.

I thought the OEM setup [with the 20"s] was just a tad over 31"

No?

OEM tires with the 20's are 33" tall and just over 10.5" wide

Mine rub on the inner liner slightly (at full lock) - 295/60/20 Trail Grapplers. Thats with a 1/4" spacer, on 18MM offset wheels.

2" HBS level..

Mine do not rub anywhere but the little nub inside the driverside liner. I have no level or lift just Bilstein HD shocks and struts factory height. I like my setup the 12.50 width would be a little meaner but my rubber cost enough as is.

Good to know.

Thanks.

Given that info, I really don't see a problem running 35's with a 2.5" level kit.... even an aggressive tread.

With a 2.5 level just keep it 12.5 width or less and I think it will be fine with offset or spacer.

Today I put 295x70x18 with 5" back space and -12 offset and they rub at full lockout. I have a 2.5 leveling kit on mine too. Good thing I am lifting it next Saturday!
