I pulled up at a restaurant yesterday and there was a jeep parked next to me with a lift and tires. I noticed that the tires were noticeably bigger than mine, so I looked at the sidewall. 35x12.50x20, same size as mine. When I got home I measured mine, and they measure a whopping 33.5 inches tall. I have to say, I'm a bit disappointed. Mine are **** Cepek FC II and the jeeps were Trail grapplers.

Is this normal with **** Cepek tires? I bought these because they did so well on my Avalanche (40k miles and still had plenty of life left).

Some companies just run small where as other run big.
I know interco tires run usually 1" tall than listed.

Could also be from weight, your truck is a lot heavier than a jeep, causing the tires to squat more, loosing height.

Theres a lot of things that can go into it man. The weight your pressure, also how much wear yours have compared to his.

I figured there'd be some variance, but my tires have less than 1000 miles on them and the pressure is at 45 psi.
Oh well, not a whole lot I can do about it now. It looks good, and if they wear like my last set, I'll be happy.

The width of the rim plays a HUGE part in it. Wider rims spread the tire out more and it will sit lower as a result.

And DCs run small anyways. My FC II 35s sit at 33.75.

Actually, most tires run smaller then listed. Usually 35's are around 34" and some change. The 37's are about 36¼".

The 35x12.5 Interco's I have are just a little over 34"

Are those curbside specs, or just numbers off a chart? I didn't realize you had Trail Grapplers also. I figured only us poser third gens ran the "mall grapplers". lol

Go measure them curbside. I'd be interested in comparing them, but I can't measure mine until tomorrow.

**** Cepek staff e mailed me back. they said the tire actually specs out at 34.6", so if you take an inch for wheel width and the weight of the truck, that puts me right where my measurement was.
Ya learn something new every day. Guess if I absolutely must have 35 inch tires, I'll need to get 37's!!
