I just got new wheels with the appropriate offset and had them do 37x13.5x20 nitto trail grapplers. Even with the 6" lift, the tires are STUFFED and don't allow for much travel. Discount said they will exchange for 35's if I want since they actually rub with the right movements. I do have all 4 bilsteins on the way. I understood that the rears were adjustable to an inch... but i was wrong. If I understand everything, my choices are to exchange for 35's and don't raise... or... set the bilsteins to the setting a little over an inch, but then need an option to bump the rear up an inch. I don't plan to mod gears or anything due to 37's. What are your recommendations. And if deciding to raise another inch or so, how do I raise the rear? I prefer to try and keep the inch rake because i am loaded down or trailering almost all the time.

I believe the rear shocks do not provide an extra inch of lift, they just extend an extra inch so you can install a spacer. What size are your wheels, what offset, and what kit did you install?

Get rid of the rake and get bags. I lifted mine 6" and and got rid of my rake and to compensate I got the Airlift 5000's. I tow with approximately 1500-1800 lb tongue weight and my truck is smooth and level with the bags. Well worth the money.

Exactly the suggestion I was going to make. Even if you get the cheaper Airlift 1000, they'll get rid of your rake when towing. Plus a leveled truck looks much better!

They are 20x9 wheels with -12 offset. The lift I have had for a while is rcx 6". I've been running stock rims with bolt on spacers. The new wheels and tires both came from discount tire, so they will exchange whatever to make it right.

I don't guess I know what bags and airlifts are.

You just have to consider how much weight you are going to tow when you decide which air bags to get. Air bags are common in 18 wheeler trucks and even passenger trains and they're available for our trucks for some time now. They help compensate for heavier payloads. The smaller bags fit inside the springs (Airlift 1000.) The 1000 assist with weight up to 1000 pounds and the 5000's, like I have, assist to 5,000 pounds. It's a very price reasonable option to help with heavier loads, I just wouldn't recommend them to someone to who wants to make a habit of towing constantly over payload recommendations. With these you can have a leveled truck and use air to lift the back of the truck once you load it down with weight. I added the on board air (wireless one) so I just set the pressure with a remote and it keeps the pressure constant. I love my Airlift bags!

I was under the impression that the 5000's weren't available for 1500's?

I honestly don't know. I think the 1000's are designed to fit the 1500's because they fit inside the spring and the springs of the 2500 are larger but the 5000's come with their own mounting and don't go inside the factory spring. I would imagine that they would fit the 1500 but you'll have to talk to a sales rep to be sure.

I went out to the truck and snapped these pics so you can see how the 5000's are mounted.

Thanks for the pics! I thought they were mounted from the leaf springs for some reason!

Uhh, that would be kinda impossible on a fourth generation Ram 1500.

The problem is the -12 offset.
You'll need to add Bilsteins up front to get it up higher and leveled to the rear.
Setting them at 1.4 with your RCX will level you out.
You'll clear those wheels no problem.

But if you don't plan on re-gearing, I'd drop down to 35's unless you have 3.92... Then I'd add the Bilsteins to level out
