I recently installed Bils at 2.8 on my '12 RAM 1500 Laramie Crew Cab 4x4.

I like the ride, as the ride is not as harsh in the Laramie as it is in the Express, probably due to the weight difference between the vehicles.

After the alignment, my truck sets perfectly level front to back!

The challenge will be this fall, when I load the bed with hunting gear, a deer or two and or firewood. During the fall this truck sees fire roads, washed-out creek beds, public land access roads, and forestry roads.

I am considering the following options to mitigate my truck bulldogging with a 300-500lb load:

1" TGC Spacer - Welded Steel
1.5" MotoFab Spacer - CNC Billet Aluminum
ICON Rear Coil-Springs - 1.5" lift
TufTruck TTC-1223-V Coil Springs - OEM Height
Air Lift1000
TLC for Ram 1500 Coil-Spring

Any insight from your experiences will be appreciated!

Thank you in advance!

Frank, I do have 2 air shock options listed.
Just looking for some "real-world" experience feedback.

By chance, do you use any of these options?

yeah yeah, I saw that, just asking if all the other stuff is necessary, like why not JUST air shocks.

I would either do air bags or Tuff truck coils on it.

Sorry for the confusion, I am only going to install one of the solutions listed, just not sure which one. :)

I don't see air shocks listed.

While these are not direct old school air shocks, they fit my needs.
Air Lift1000
TLC for Ram 1500 Coil-Spring

Air shocks are a very rough ride and do not bode well off-road, in my experience

How is the ride with the TTCs?

Are you running the 1211's as in your signature?

Are you running the 1211's with a spacer?

What is the height of the top of your rear fender well?

I think the ride is fine, yes its not as smooth as a stock truck but it does not ride like a 2500 either.

Yes I have the 1211s along with the 1" spacers for a height right around 40" rear and 39 front.

Its nice having a much more capable truck now as in stock forum these truck lack pretty bad.

I'm running the 1.5" TGC steel spacers and like you I spend a lot of time in the woods on dirt , gravel & washed out Forrest service roads just a bit south of you in Tn near Bristol mainly on the Holston mountain range .

I've had no issues with the spacers in the rear , and I set my bils to + 2.8" as well , now I'm not nose high when hauling or towing ....

If interested here's a link to my rear 1.5" TGC spacer install.

For those that have ordered the TufTruck Coils, where did you purchase them from? (I'm in Virginia)
Might anyone know if the supporting vendors stock them?

I have the TLC airbags on my 1500, when running unloaded, I keep 5psi in them. I don't even notice they are there ride wise and don't add any noticable lift(@5psi) to the rear height.
When needed they do what they're supposed to, being a larger Goodyear airbag, they don't need much pressure to level so it keeps the ride comfortable.

For those of you running the Airlift 1000 or the TLCs, do they seem to lose air in the cooler temps?
Are you running an onboard compressor or just a external Schrader Valve?

I have not had my Timber Grove air bags in cold weather yet but its only normal if they loose some air when temps drop just like your tires will.
I run mine around 10 psi empty, well I have a topper so not really empty..lol
I dont have a on board compressor but think I might look at them it would be nice to have.

RLK, could you share your height measurements with the Bils at 2.8 and the 1.5" TGCs in the rear?

I'm prepping for "my time" in the woods and would like to mitigate the "nose high" and trying to decide between the 1" or 1.5" TGCs or AirLifts for now.

With bils @ +2.8" & 1.5" rear spacers my fronts are 391/4 and the rears are 40 1/8.

So, it's that "reading thing"! ;)

I initially only saw the starting measurements and not the finished ones.

It's interesting that my truck sits as the following today:

L/F & R/F = 39"
L/R = 39.5"
R/R = 39"

Not sure if the 1" will be enough, or the 1.5" will be too much.

And this is in relation to when I have a deer or two, hunting gear in the bed and full tank of gas. Or all my hunting/camping gear for a week or two in the backcounty.

RLK do you have any rake now with the 1.5" spacer installed and "a full tank of gas and 3 deer, my bow and deer stand in the back so about 400 - 500 lbs +gas"?
