We have a 2017 ram we just purchased and I'm reading about shocked and other types of leveling kits

Which is the preferred method
We like how it currently rides and I'm on a budget

I just had Bilstein 5100s installed this week and I'm very pleased with them. I'd be the majority of the leveled Rams on the forum have gone the same route. I installed spacers on my 2012 and it doesn't ride nearly as nice as the Bilstein. I paid $306 for the install and alignment, I already had the Bilsteins.

If anything I'd say it was an improvement but mine is a 2013 with 44k miles and one of the front struts was leaking so I can't say you would have the same experience.

I'm in the same situation with my '16. Love the ride and just want to level it. Interested in reading more responses.

I have a 17' RAM with Bilsteins 5100 (set at 2.8) and love how it rides. It definitely rides much better.

Did you do anything to the back, or is that just with the front set to 2.8?

I want to level my 2wd (live in Fl) with the supreme suspension coil spacers. Any thoughts on this?

Seems to me the newer trucks are leveled with a spacer on top of the coil pack as a spacer and the strut is not even disassembled - so the ride should be just like stock? The older trucks required the spacer inside the strut assembly on top of the spring so obviously the front end would ride much stiffer.

I'm in the same boat - new 2016 truck with just 5k miles on it (it's kinda a 3rd family vehicle) - don't really need new shocks up front yet but I'm looking for a quick and easy way to level the truck. I watched a Bilstein install video and the strut disassembly looks a little challenging.

Don't waste time or money on spacers. Do it right with bils. Just did mine set at 2.1 on 35" tires.

Ride is much nicer. The tires play a roll in that too.

Make sure u guys do some research if ur gonna go with spacers- As they can cause major suspension issues - I belive their are uca issues as well as ball joint issues - Just something to think about - A adjustable coil over is a much better option.

Just the bils at 2.1 up front did not do uca or spacers.

Uca will a good idea is not really needed with bils. The downward travel is limited so it is safer.

The problem with spacers as I understand is the downward travel is not limited to it over extends the uca ball joints.

There is a lot to be said for leaving the rake--like it goes away when you carry cargo and doesn't point your headlights at the moon. Just saying... :favorites13:
