Close to pulling the trigger on 20" wheels, looking for feedback pics on -12 & -24 offset, want the setup to look aggressive and stick out a bit (will be adding fender flares down the road) -- however don't want it to be an overkill.

Post pics please :happy107:

I have -24 wheels with 35x12.5x20 tires and smittybilt m1 fender flares on my truck. They stuck out about 2" out of the wheel well before the flares and now with the flares they are even with the edge of the flare. So I would say -24 sticks out about 2" and negative -12 would be around an inch.

Here is my truck on 20x10 with -24 mm offset. Tires are 33x12.5. The tires stick about 3" from the front fender. Not as much at the rear

I am not really up on this, but I think backspacing is in play as well

I just bought some wheels and and they offered the type I wanted in two options

-24 with 4.5" backspacing

-12 with 5" backspacing

I wish I could tell you what the difference is between the two and how backspacing affects the setback , but I just don't know

If they get here on time I will be mounting them on Friday, I will get a picture for you

QP: nice ride man

Thank you witch

Back spacing correlates to offset(it's just two different measurements) -24 offset will stick out from the fender 1/2" further than the -12 offsett

For anyone interested this is a fantastic explanation of offset & backspacing.
This is Brandonjanson's guide to Leveling in the 4th Gen Lifted stickies @ the top of the lifted section .

Just click the link and scroll down a bit to the correct area .

quietpeen pretty much hit the nail on the head. With 35x12.5's a 20x10 -24 offset will poke past the fenders by about 3". A 20x10 -12 offset will poke past the fender by about 2.5". If you have OEM fender flares you can subtract 1" off each of those measurements as they provide 1" of coverage.

Very nice truck. What fender flares are those?

Might have to go with -12 offset as I wanted it to stick out little less

I regret not going with -24 instead of the -12. When I added the flares it looks a little sucked in, I'll post a picture when it's light out.

they are oem 2500 fender flares. I'm contemplating getting new wheels and also thinking of -12 instead of -24

what tires do you have? Bushwacker flares stick out far and without an aggressive or wide enough tire it could look a little tucked

Wise. Are your wheels 9" wide or 10" wide?

I will agree with your assessment.

Although frowned upon by some.....Spacers would easily fix this problem.

I believe they are 10 inch wheels. Yea that is my plan, I just have to do some research first I've never used spacers.

If you do a spacer get Bora....They are produced when you order from them.
