I don't know if this is topical but I can't believe that my 2012 Laramie Longhorn is still on the original brakes. The brakes work well, no vibration, no squealing, etc. I do notice more pedal travel which I attribute to the pads wearing but that's it.

Are you all seeing the same with your trucks? I'm more than ecstatic about how good this truck has been to me especially the brake life!

freeway miles?
Both City and highway. If I had to estimate, 60% of them are highway. I've done a handful of towing as well trailering my car from San Antonio to Houston and back.

My 12 Ram 1500 had 86K on fronts with plenty to spare. The rears on the other hand had to be replaced and had 2mm of pad left.

That's pretty amazing. I've had rear brakes last that long, but cant remember any fronts lasting that long.

I've found on my ram that the rears always wear out faster than the fronts. I always thought it was because I'm usually hauling a fair bit of weight in the box, but maybe that's just normal for these trucks. My oe brakes lasted about 80k mostly highway and wore evenly front and back, but no other combination seems to get anywhere near as far. I've only been getting 40k out of the rear and 60 out of the front. Makes me wonder if they used different brake compounds front and rear from the factory. The mopar pads aren't the same as the oe ones.

I got roughly 60k out of my front pads and rotors until they had to be replaced. Replaced the rear pads at the same time. My fronts started to shake and squeal.

My 2008 Ram 1500 has 49K, and the pads look new. It has the factory Goodyear HP's. They are very dry rotted, but look to have about 10-20K left.

My wife's 2011 Jeep Grand has 92K, and the brake pads look new. She's also still on the factory Goodyear Fortera tires. They look like they have about 5-10K left.

I think parts are just built to last longer these days.

I had 44K on my 2014 Durango R/T when I traded it for my Ram. The brakes were still in great shape. I take (2) 4000+ mile round trips each year and when I'm on the highway for those trips I may go 300+ miles without touching the brakes.

I'm hoping my Ram brakes hold up that well.

I have 55k on my factory brakes. Pads look good. Already turned the rotors once. Shakes a little on hard braking. Figure this spring I'll change them out.

I made it to about 58k before I replaced them all due to some shaking. The pads still had a lot of life in them though.
