Does anyone know the size of the projector lense? Thinking I can swap out the stock lense for a clear one for a sharper cutoff like the TYC.

2.5" or 3"

Or what's involved with swapping in a HID projector That is not the FXR.

They are not a standard size. Bigger than a 3".....by a few hairs. So...a standard 3" won't fit in there.

Swapping to another projector - why not the FXR? The plates to mount them to the factory bracketry makes things clean.

You do realize you need to bake the lamps open to make a swap right?
Just checking because most of us let the pro handle that, and get a good seal after the work is done.

If you still want to tackle the job,
RetroFitsource has a complete Ram FX-R kit for $160

Retro-Quik: Dodge Ram (13+)

I think he does.......

And......though not listed on my site, if someone wanted to the parts to do the job, I have them all in stock as well. I'm an authorized TRS retailer (one of their highest selling resellers too!) - and everything on their site - I sell as well. (just don't have time to get it ALL on my site!).

Quite a bit more is needed than the $160 kit. Thats really just the projectors and brackets, still need a bunch of goodies to complete the job. :favorites13:

and.......a wee bit of patience. ;)

Mine. TRS (The Retrofit Source) is where I get a good chunk of my parts, hell, 98% of the parts I use for builds come from them.

But....it also means that I resell all of their stuff too. So.....if anyone needs anything from TRS, I can get it - and........as I know these lights like the back of my hand - I know exactly what you need for a DIY project.

TRS is having a black friday sale. Im buying the FX-R retro kit, but curious about the LED Angel Eye size.

I used 90mm on mine. They unfortunately don't seem to be holding up so well though. One of them has already lost about a third of the LED's. Not sure if it's the cold or having them run constant when the HID's are on? I've heard they can be kinda sensitive to both extremes.

Mine are the previous gen Morimoto's though so maybe the current production are a less sensitive?

Thanks for the info. Maybe I will skip the LED.
