Hi guys, I am new to the board so please forgive me is this is answered somewhere else.

I just purchased a 2012 Express with the single headlights. I would like to convert to a HID setup. Is there someone out there who makes a single projector kit? Or can i convert to the quad setup?

Thanks

You can purchase the parts to retro fit a HID projector into your dual housings.
I did this, it's a lot of work.

You can also contact "The RetroShop" (a site sponsor) and get a quote from him.
He can set you up with either duals or quads. I personally like the look of a retro'd dual.

Thanks a bunch. Looking at the RetroShop now, they seem like they are the way to go. I was unaware i could do my fogs as well.

Are there any advantages to going with a quad setup over a dual? Or is the work the go quad not worth it?

my hid sense was ringin'!

Here's the pro's and cons of the duals / quads - for YOUR application (a truck that came with duals):

Duals - will retain bixenon capabilities from the projector. Lots of shrouds fit in your headlights (the shroud is the part that covers the projector). Doesn't have to be "cut" to fit, so - cheaper.

Quads - will fit, but you will not have bixenon HIDs from the projectors, as the lows will go off (if the lows go off, HIDs go off) when you hit the high beams. Some like the look of the quads over duals. I have ran both on my truck...........I love 'em both!

Hit me up with any questions you have!

I'll be logged into the chat feature of my website tonight as well (during Game 2 of the NLCS!). :D

I'll say this.........

I have 4 kits that I sell. 65% go with the 55W kits, 20% go with Nightvision, 12.5% Economy, 2.5% 35W kits.

30-40% more light on the 55W kit. :D

Jj, thanks for all your help on this. I am thinking of going with these "http://shop.retroshop.us/ProductDetails.asp?ProductCode=4G%2EQD%2ERETRO"
in 55W 5000k. So Both my high and low beam will be HID correct?

I was also thinking of going with the Fog-light upgrade as well. Is 55W too much for fogs? And can i get fog's in 3000k range?

Thanks again.

So the retrofit kit for dual's will eliminate my high beams?

Are you wanting to order a whole new quad headlight to replace your duals? if you do that then yes, it will eliminate your duals, but projectors and HIDs will be a million times better then what you have now

It doesn't show all the optiOns you chose but I'm assuming the 55w hids right??? That will all work beautifully I'm sure. And of course your highs and lows will work. Good choice
