I've done that on several of my fords. Usually there's not a plug for it. Just T tap into the lights for the license plate or the tail lights. The LEDs don't draw much power. Jut double check the tailgate doesn't hit before you tighten the nuts on it.

There are actually mounting holes already on the truck. I went out and was looking around, i don't see a plug but there is a white wire that is sticking out of one of the harnesses back there its kind of taped back but plainly visible. Not sure if its hot or not. The light should be here in a few days. And FYI it does not come LED from dodge just three 194 bulbs, but i do have leds here for it already.

When you mount it be sure and use locking nuts. I tend to forget until I'm under there trying to tighten them. Then I think to myself crap I hope they don't loosen because it will be a sob to do this again.

Ok light came in. Got it installed, no existing plug it had to be tapped into the license plat lights. It also came with screws but the mounting holes are square easy fix i put the little square plugs made for license plate mounting. Over all it was worth it but it was very hard to get my huge meathooks in there.

Thanks for the information about this - I may have to do this mod as I like a little additional visibility from behind at night.

The part number is 55277299AA. I buy most of my OEM stuff thru steve white motors in NC. Thay always have great deals on ebay. All you need for the install is the part, about a foot of black and red wire to extend the harness a bit, two of the plastic inserts that the screws go into to secure a lic plate and a few misc electrical connectors. Just need to tap into the lic plate lights. Ill try to do a write up soon but work has me pretty busy.

I didn't see a part listed. It should be around $60
