Ok so I called my local wheel shop and inquired about BFG KO2 35x12.50x20 with bils at 2.8 they said no can't do it...
Why not!!!
I was looking at going with a 35 and bils at 2.8 and a 1' TGC spacer In the rear ..?
Any input would be greatly appreciated because I'm driving myself nuts here ..

Truck is a 2015 1500 sport crew cab..

I had 35x12.5x20 atturo trail blade xt on my truck with bils at 2.8 and I only had run at full lock on little nub on drivers side wheel liner. They won't fit on stock wheels without spacers.

Personally I hate those tires they don't self clean if you get them offraod at all. Depending on what year I have seen 35's on them I run 37x12.5r 20 on my 2016 with a level and that's it. Summer tires for towing are 325/60r 20's. Make sure to get a tire rated for your use or get a summer towing set and a winter set like I did.

I was either going to keep my stock sport wheels or get the XD rockstar 3

What size spacer would be needed with a stock sport wheel?

Call your local discount tire shop. Or get online and they will tell you what can fit without using a spacer. Spacers are bad and best to just get the correct backspacing on the rim.

I don't do any towing, and the extent of my off roading is the rocky dirt back roads in the country

I believe most run a 1.5 spacer that is hub centric. Just domt buy cheap ebay ones.

once those are on you should fit those 35s fine as plenty of other people have.

Also from what I have read some 35" bfgs run short, not sure which ones your looking at since you did not post that info but the KM2s from what I have found run close to 34s then 35s so that should give you a little more clearance.

you would most likely need a 1/4" spacer to run those tires on your stock sport wheels

Did you ask what size tire they would put on? It doesn't count like you have a specific need.

All that's needed is 1/4" wheel spacers in the front to clear the 12.50 tire on the stock wheel. otherwise it will rub the control arm. every tire measure's different but with stock wheels you should be fine with no rubbing while full lock with that set up and 1/4" spacers. I've done it on many 4th gens with a few diff tire styles.

I'm running a 35/12.5 on stock sport rims without spacers with bils set at 2.8. I only rub at full lock in reverse. Sorry she is a little dirty.

They do a bit but not alot. You can see like the first set of tread. They give the truck a nice aggressive stance without being out to far. I'll snap a pic real quick so you can get an idea.
