Yesterday I had the front window tinted with 50% ceramic tint. I was driving out around 10PM and had no issues seeing out the window.

Can you fill me in a little more on this ceramic tint? I would LOVE to tint my windshield but with my 12% film film it definitely affects night driving. I had 5% film on my Lexus and what a disaster that was IMO lol. Looked great but couldn't see a dang thing at night. So literally no difference with night driving? Looks great BTW

Thanks!

With 50% it does not affect night driving for me. If I would have gone down to 35% or 20% (like my side windows have) I would definitely have an issue. Looking out my side windows with 20% is difficult sometimes.

Ceramic tint contains ceramic particles which allows the film to cut from 45% to 50% of the solar heat that enters through the windows. It is more expensive than regular tint, but definitely worth it.

The shop I go to has this heat machine to show you the difference in the reduction of heat from ceramic tint, carbon tint, and regular tint. Carbon is the in between of ceramic and regular.

My newly installed tint on my 2017 Rebel is ceramic. Its really nice...but I only added 50% to the stock side windows. I'm not a fan of tinting ones windshield (illegal here in MN) but I did add a 4" 15% eyebrow at the top of the windshield. From the outside you can't even tell...inside it looks great.

You're welcome and thank you! Let us know if you end up getting ceramic tint and what you think about it.

It's all about what's comfortable for you. I wish I didn't have my windshield tinted on my mustang. I have 5% on the sides and back on my mustang and 50% on the front windshield and I regret it. I hate driving at night in this thing.

When I got the truck I just got 20% on the sides and back and nothing on the front. c8ac093e1f5109e63a80e846e3b1630b.jpgf8c26e803e98d65b422889dd04db3c9d.jpg

When I got the truck i thought about getting 80% on the windshield.

Interesting. Why do you regret the front windshield? At 50% I have no issues (thus far) with seeing out. I've only had it for one day, but I don't expect it to change.

Basically, it's driving down dark roads.

During the day is fine, but put me on a dark road. I hate it.

50% on the windshield is the way to go. No visibility loss at night and it significantly cuts down glare from oncoming headlights. Had it over two years now and never had a problem with the law. Oklahoma is pretty lax, though. I see guys every day running 20% or darker on their windshields...
