Any reviews or photos of the AMP Terrain Gripper?

What do you think of this tire. Some compare to nitto and Toyo.

Thoughts, pics?

Thanks!

Amp terrain grippers

Just bought a set. I can't wait to put them on. They are a good looking tire.

Also looking forward to reviews for this tire size/setup from AMP. After my Duratracs are worn, I'm looking to switch over.

Did anyone end up putting these on? I'm also looking at them as a cheaper alternative to nitto ridge grapplers

I had them on a previous truck. They did what they claimed to do. Got 40,000 Km's out of them with minimal wear before trading the truck in.I'm sure they would have made it to 80,000 or more. Live in western Canada and ran them year round on our nasty winter roads. Did great in snow and ice, were good in water and no complaints on dry pavement.

Ill be getting a set for my Ram again when the time comes. It is great getting a product at half the cost of the competition... It is crazy what the big brands like toyo, nitto cooper and so on charge for the branded tires.....

A quick update but long overdue. I measured the tires and they are right at 34 inches on the dot after a couple thousand miles. I don’t think I already would have lost half an inch of tread so maybe the size listing was a little off

half the cost relative to other ATs? a set of 4 in calgary before balance and install is 1180 plus tax. thats for the 305 55 20 size (only other size i found for the ram was in 17 inch). i haven't priced other AT's to be frank.

how's the gas mielage on these? are they an LT tire? i'm guessing they are fairly heavy. haven't seen any comments on mileage here, just wearability.

They run a full 13” wide so unless you have a 10” wheel you’ll have significant budge in 305/55R20.

Took a chance when they were a new to the truck scene in 2016 for under $750 shipped, have put on 35k and they handled any terrain well except obviously glare ice. That being said, 2 of them took 24 ounces of weight so I have been to the road force balancer every 6K miles to minimize highway vibration/road noise and had enough of their weight(63 lbs each). Still have plenty of tread so they’ll go on Craigslist.

They do make a 285/55 as well and I’m sure their quality control has improved in the last 3 years. They also recently released an ATp that copies KO2s.

I'm running the A/T pro on my 16. Have around 35000 km on them now. No issues other then a little road noise and a slight hit in mileage, but I did expect that. Everyone thinks they're KO2's. But 1/2 the price.

Todd,
The 305 tire on a 10 wide -24 wheel you’ll be flirting/just the tip with the fender liner at stock front height on rough pavement turning.

Won’t do any damage unless heavy off-roading, but you’ll hear the plastic dragging in the cab.

I’m debating picking up a set of these AMP Terrain Gripper 285/55r20 for my truck. Anyone offer their opinions on these for daily use. Someone told me these are only for mudding?

i don't think they are only for mudding from reading description but more of an off road option for sure.

I have them for daily use. So far so good. More of an all terrain with an aggressive look. Not that loud either
