Y'all been super helpful, thanks so much. Putting my 1.5 in level on Thursday. The truck is a 2013 ram 1500 CC 2wd. Tires will be next. Tell me how this sounds, am I correct in my logic:

I can get 275/65r20 in an all terrain, lots of choices, good $$

I can get 285/65r20 in an all terrain, few choices and price goes up significantly. It really doesn't seem like this like size increase makes that much of a difference visually.

Or I can get 35x12.5r20 and have to add 1/4 in spacers in an all terrain, more choices, a little more expensive but more common thus not as bad as 285?

Tires are a big investment, but go at least 285's or 35's now, you'll be glad you paid a little more. The 275 is only like an 1" taller, where at least a 285 is 34.5" compared to 33"

Am I correct...

Am I correct that if I go to the 35 that a 1/4 in wheel spacer will be needed? Will that and the 1.5 level keep me from rubbing?

It seems like there are more options with 35 then with 285 on a 20 in rim.

Brandon would be a good source on the spacer, but I'd think with a 20" wheel and 0 offset would make them fit.

Most "35's" only spec out to 34.5" to 34.7" tall so unless you need to have a wide tire, the 285/65/20 fits nicely or even a 295/65/20. The 295 is just a hair over 35" and smidge narrower than a traditional 12.50......

It's not that I need a wider tire, but the only option I've found in the 285/65r20 is the BFG tire around $350.

Them are the ones I've got, and yes, BFG is proud of them. Only other options in the size I remember are the Nitto Terra Graps and the Good Year MTR IIRC............more option in the 295 size but the price just gets worse though most are lighter than the flotation sizes.

Though here is my question..........when looking at a 35 x12.50 or a 295/65/20: which is better, the heavier 35 with a max psi of 65 psi or the lighter 295 with a max psi of 80? Both are load range E?

Good question, I would suppose for gas mileage the lighter tire. I see more options for the 295. I still get the height but almost an 1in narrower than the 12.5. That should cut out need for spacer and concern over any rubbing??

295's clear on the stock rims from what I've heard on this forum, there are a few members running that size with just leveling kits. It will be the size I go with when the BFG's are worn out, though I am running a 4" lift now.

Looking back thru this thread, you are only doing 1.5" up front? The 275/65/20 might be a better fit, you'd be suprised at how much better the slightly bigger and more aggressive tire looks. I would have more than likely stayed with that size if I had stuck with just a level and not done the full lift kit.

Yeah...

I'm doing the 1.5 in daystar level b/c from what I've read most people say it leveled it, or got it pretty darn close. So you think the 295/65r20 would be too big for just a level and I'd have some rubbing issues?

Hard to say for sure, I know you'd be fine in the rear. You may contact the lower rear portion of the front wheel well. For reference, I had Bil's @ 2.1" with 285's on the stock 20x9's. I had plenty of clearance on the knuckle, and they did not rub anywhere. I took her offroad to twist and flex her out and lock to lock I had no contact. The BFG's spec out to 34.5" tall and 11.7" wide on a 20x9 rim. The 295's (using Toyo AT2's) spec out to 35.1" tall and 12.1" wide. Combined with a smidge more than 1/2" less to work with, I'm just not sure if they'd clear.

Im trying to remember the member on here running the Toyo's on his truck, IIRC he is running 296/65/20's with Bils @ 2.1. It's a silver cc, sport with a camper shell, looks hella nice. Might help as a reference. Let me do some digging.

Awesome

I bet if I get the level out of the front end that I expect them I think the 295 would be fine. I'll know exactly how much I get after Thursday

The Daystar 1.5" lifted mine 2.5", and my 285/65/20's fit fine, no where near rubbing, nor spacer with 20x9 0 offset.

Nice

That's encouraging to hear, I remembered that from our earlier conversations. I'm sticking with the stock rim, which I believe has a different offset, right?
