Anyone have experience with both Firestone M/T and Falken Wildpeak A/T3W tires?

Hi,

I'm looking to purchase either the Firestone M/T or Falken Wildpeak A/T3W tires. Looking at 275/65/20. I know they are completely different. :)

I found the Firestones for $750 for a set of 4. The Falken's will run me $950.

I know unlikely, but anyone have experience with both these tires? Between these two, which one will last longer? Would the Firestone tires be significantly louder?

Truck is my daily driver. I only put on 8000-10,000 miles a year. A mix of driving environments.

Thanks :)

I was just about to post a thread about the Firestone Destination MT's?.... A guy I know has him on his wrangler and likes them...Trying to pick out tires for my truck and I have been leaning towards the Atturo Trail Blade MT... But I am now considering these as well... I'll sit back and away the replies you get!!

I run the destination m/t's . Never tried the wildpeak. Firestones are wearing good. They are a little loud. But I drive at least 20,000 per year and it don't bother me. I kind of like it. They are not the greatest in rain. But I had cooper at3's before that. And they were great in the rain. The firestone's do great in the snow.

I have a buddy had the 35" firestone MT on his ram, they looked badass and he had no complaints with them. He doesn't see much snow in SC so can't comment on that but the lack of sipping....probably not so hot.

My tire guy is not a big fan of the falkens, he says he gets a lot of them coming in not wearing well and out of round.

Anoter option for a cheaper MT is the Mastercraft MXT, I had them and perferred them over the firestones. Only issue is the only size close to what you need is LT305/55R20.

My dad and several of my buddies have or have had the firestone m/t and they all have liked them. My dad ran them til they were basically slicks and they still gripped well. Were a lil noisy on his Durango, but they are a m/t so it's expected.

I ended ordering the Falken WildPeak A/T3W tires. I had them before and they're a good compromise all around.

I ordered 4 -275 60 20 Falken Wildpeak A/T3W off Amazon for 644 total shipped and received them to my door in Anchorage, AK in 3 days. I really like them so far. The roads are all crap up here right now between snow and the never ending ice on the roads. They do great. Ride smooth on the highway. And provide pretty decent grip on the snow and ice. For the price and look, they can't be beat. They do have a small amount of highway road noise but not bad at all.
I also refinished a set of 3rd Gen ram 20s to put them on. Little winter project.

The wheels look great painted black
Thanks I appreciate it. It wasn't to hard just very time consuming to get them sanded and preped for primer and paint. So I'm glad I took my time because they came out pretty nice. My 1st time doing it too.
