I'm going to be ordering myself a Lockpick for my truck and was wondering what people use for an aftermarket color backup camera. Amazon has a few options I see, the CoastalTech camera is $90. Any others?

I would recommend the customtronix jailbreak over the lockpick..

As for aftermarket cameras, I put a boyo camera on my front bumper. I'm very happy with it.

CCD cameras are said to have better looking image over CMOS

Concur. Boyo makes both styles, so if you go with them be sure to go CCD.

I've never heard of these guys TBH. I have to look and see if my truck VIN is supported.

I'll check into the cameras though. Thanks!

The camera on your front bumper, is it hooked up to your factory Alpine head unit? I would love to have a front camera for parking etc and would like it to be seen in the touchscreen. Is this possible? I already have a backup camera.

Yes. It's hooked up to my factory radio, and turns on whenever I shift into Drive. It stays on until I got 7mph. You can also turn it on manually.

Also, the factory head unit is Harmon Kardon.

I've got a crime stopper 6703 and it looks oem once I mounted it in my tailgate handle. It doesn't have quite the vertical field of view that the oem camera has though. Audiovox makes one that appears to have a great field of view that I may try. Not sure on the model number though.

That is perfect. Will this work with MY factory Alpine unit? I have a 2012 model Longhorn.

I installed front and rear RVS camera system on my 2014 power wagon tradesman and have been very pleased with the system.

Just got done with the Audiovox install, came out good. Picture is ok, for 90$ cam and I can see the trailer ball while mounted in factory location in the handle.
