So I am thinking of adding a bed step to the back of the truck, the kind that tuck up under the bumper and you can kick out to get into the bed easier. I was thinking the Amp Research Bed Step as it is what I have seen the most but I am open to suggestions if you have any. I do have a dual exhaust setup, i know some are specific to that.

I have the AMP bed step now for 6 weeks,
does his job, folds nicely under the exhaust tip and seems to be well made.
the only "problem" is that you have to remove a bracket who holds the rear driver side fender (or what it's called) in place.
But this is the price for having it nice snug under the exhaust tip on a 1500 sport with dual exhaust.

Got a picture by chance? I've heard a few mixed reviews of how it fits under the bumper. I saw how it installs and wondered if removing the bracket would have any adverse effects, I have to imagine it's there for a reason but at the same time they wouldn't do it if it was a major tie in point for the bumper.. right? lol

Wow that is a big price difference. I'll have to keep that one in mind!

The bracket must serve some importance, right? Made me nervous removing it. That's been almost two years ago. The step has been repeatedly useful and would be sorely missed. The bracket? Not so much.

IIRC, you can't mount the Bestop with dual exhaust. That said, with only one tailpipe, I really like mine.

they offer one for the dual exhaust but the step looks much smaller.

I installed the Bestop version over a year ago on my 2015. Easy install instructions and it is specific to the dual exhaust.

That is incorrect.

Here's the Bestop on my 2016 with dual exhaust. Like others have said, it's a lot cheaper than the AMP. Still made of 100% aluminum too, so no rust. I've used it for 9 months now, I love it!

I use this . It has a traction type of surface and its designed so you can run a strap up through the center triangle shaped hole and put the loop over either end of the step for pulling plus a little added protection back there . I Think it was like 60 some bucks on Amazon. It has a TGL cast on the top of it. I noticed a few that looked similar but not quite the same

How do you get up with the tailgate down? I'd like a step but they don't visually hide well
