Bestop rocks! I have had a set of their steps now for a short bit (I think I got them in 2010, late?) I had a few issues with a motor, got that squared away. Then, a few weeks ago I noticed that the driver's side wasn't going up all the way. A lot of guys pointed it out in my wheel/tire thread, THANKS - LOL.

Here's what it was looking like:

And...........Friday morning it went from working ok, to going down half way and getting stuck. So, I took the board off, and the f'n linkage won't move at all. So.......off they came!

Called Bestop, their tech was busy, but called me back in 15 minutes. Gotta love that. Talked through a few things, found that the linkages need to be replaced. New linkages coming!! :birgits_tiredcoffee

yeah, I couldn't get the damn thing to move at ALL.

back one moves freely.

Best part? the new ones will allow the boards to tuck a little more

That's great service. Considering where that system has to be mounted, and the conditions they are exposed to, it's no wonder corrosion is a problem.

With Explorer's, Aviator's, and other SUV's by Ford/Lincoln we get alot in the shop that are getting motors or whole units replaced due to weather elements. I'd love to have some but living in Mo, they're just not worth it to me. Hope it all works out for ya JJ

I'm happy to hear they are taking care of you. On a side note after a motor issue and now this is a year I'm not sure if I want to run them on my truck. I have heard similar stories from my buddy that has them on his ram up here. Sounds like the product has a good number of things that can go wrong with them.

Mine get used a LOT. I may not have a lot of miles on the truck.......but with the kids and wife, them things are constantly being opened and shut. The motor problem - I think was due to a misalignment. Fixed that and it has been good since (I think I burned the one up because it was having problems with the resistance on them).

Sure, salt and nasty **** all over them - issues will arrise. BUT, they are caring for it, and I'm very happy about that.
