Anybody out there got a black crew cab with black Buschwacker or similar pocket style flares?

Post up some pics would ya? I kinda wanna know what I'm getting into.

Also, if you have some rants or raves about your flares in particular, post 'em up.

Thanks!

I think they are worth the time and money.

Bushwhacker has improved the design recently. The gasket fit is better both on the flare and against the truck. Mounting is better too. Cost is the only down side. $500 for the flares and another $400-$500 for paint but they look fantastic painted and cover my 35's with a -12 offset perfectly which keeps my truck cleaner!!!

Not black but..for what it's worth.

My only issue with them is that even though they have that rubber sealer on the edge dirt and salt from the winter still makes its way in. Now that it's warm out I'm going to trace a line where it covers and take them off. Then going to spray some black plastidip on the paint to prevent it from rusting out.

Other then that easy install and no fuss after its on

It's a forum, so I'll offer up a couple opinions on pocket flares . . . Even though you're putting them on a black truck and the flares are black, the flares look like cheap plastic unless you color-match paint em . . . Pocket flares stick out a fair amount and offer a lot of protection, but if you're putting them on a non-lifted Ram with stock tires, I think they look like overkill, and just silly . . . Pocket flares look best on a lifted truck with -12 or -24 offset wheels rockin some 35's like the blue Ram above . . . Just a couple opinions for your consideration

I'll second that, they give a very aggressive look in comparison to stock or smooth more slender flares. my old 07 i ran the smooth flare, and switched to the pocket flair and gave it a whole different look. As for painting them, unless you have alot of flat or semi gloss ites to accent them paint them to match, and clear them too just as you would any auto body paint job.

Crappy picture of mine. People can say what they want since I didn't paint them but they keep 95% of the crap that was slung down the side of my truck off with my tires. Definitely functional.

These are Rough Country Flares FYI

theres a big difference when you have a bunch of flat black item's on the truck, can't speak for anyone else but on a truck thats full gloss black or another color then they look out of place imo because they need paint! On yours they look good!

True, I'd say they'd look more out of place on a Black Edition with the gloss bumpers and grill. They work with the Tradesman I think.

Mine. They aren't color matched but look good with a coating of back to black applied to them.

Awesome pics and info guys.

I have a 2" level kit, 18 x 9 KMC XD Addicts with an 18 offset and am about to swap over my LT285/75Rx18 Toyo AT's for some 35 x 12.50/18 Toyo RT's on the truck below and I'll need some coverage. Street flares just don't quite have the coverage I'll need but it looks as if the Bushwacker pocket flares will.

I will be painting them before they are installed.

The pocket flares wouldn't look so good on my other HEMI:

I don't know about the 2500's, but on 1500's you can't fit 12.50's on +18 offset wheels without hitting suspension parts
