Anyone done this to their truck yet?

I just had my Charger done, holy....hell.....its amazing! No more waxing, no more buffing, water just bounces off. :favorites13:

I'll probably have my truck done in the next couple months, but......in the mean time - I had them coat a set of headlights we had here.

There are many coatings available on autogeek. They are still pretty pricey and the prep work is pretty involved, however as you say the coating last for a few years with only a minimum of maintenance. Most professional detailers are charging between $400-$700 for installation depending on the amount of prep that has to be done.

The stuff on AutoGeek isn't as......well.....robust as the stuff the pros use. Mine has a 5 year warranty.....pricing was a bit higher than 4-700......and not a lot of prep was needed on my car, just a clay and quick polish.

Pends on the brand. Nothing is beating ceramic pro right now. Forget the parent company to them but they have the standard. Wolfgang and pinnacle have something pretty good. McKee from autogeek or the autogeek brand has their stuff. Quartz has some stuff. Opti-coat has one. If you are going to do it, might as well have the whole truck done not just the lights. The protection and glass shine you get is effing unreal. Washing is a breeze and no more waxing for 5 years.

The truck is next, just have a few things that need to be repainted before it goes in ;)

My '15 Charger went in when I had him do these lights for me though, and yeah.......its insane! Figured since we do custom lights, we've heard from customers on wanting to keep the clear coat on the new lights looking great for years to come, this would be a much better option than a plastic / vinyl sheet.

Charger.......few pics:

I did chat with Chad from STL Auto Spa (who did my car, and these lights) - he used C9 Coatings (not the stuff linked above) - which was spun off by one of the guys who was a partner at Ceramic Pro. I don't know the entire story on that....but - the finished product is amazing.

On the way home that night from getting the coating done, it rained....I pulled the Charger in the garage, grabbed my air dryer........and back to looking beautiful again ;)
