Cheap brakes

There are so many choices, seems like I'm doing research all the time on which to buy, slotted or not, best price, etc. Noticing they are all about the same price range, at least within $50 of each other. At this point I just need to decide what I want to get and pull the trigger.

Powerstop makes great stuff. I used there pads and rotors on my wifes old car and about to put them on her new car.

Today's project, PowerStop F+R Rotors and PowerStop F+R Pads.

Also had to pickup a new jack, as mine completely broke and all of the hydraulic fluid leaked out everywhere.

Should be a fun day, hopefully the little ***** ass set-pin/washer thingys that hold on the rotors at the factory don't cause me problems.

Well I unfortunetly had an emergency. I did not know but, when I bought my truck in December of 2016, it had 36k miles and was a Certified Pre-Owned vehicle. Well, apparently they didn't change the brakes and the rotors and pads were still the factory rotors and pads from 2012!!!

So the pads were rusted in place and the rotors were trashed. I had no choice and had to just go out and buy whatever rotors and pads I could find.

I really really wanted the Power Stop Z23 Evo Sport F+R Brake Kit with Pads, Rotors, Calipers (already painted red) and the other small parts included.

In the end, I spent about $212 on everything and the Z23 kit *** only $318 off Amazon but it would have been 7-10 days for delivery, if I wanted 2 day delivery (even with Prime) shipping was $98 and next day shipping was $154 lol.

So I said screw it and went to pep boys and got the basic O.E. replacement model rotors and the ceramic pads. My friend is the manager at Pep Boys and whenever he is working I get 30% off my entire order off anything in the store so instead of it costing me $275 , it only cost $212.

Nothing wrong with going local. 1aauto is out of the brakes and rotors so I have an email alert set up to be notified when they are back in stock. I may take my truck in for inspection and see if my rears are really necessary right now.

My Nakamoto’s are going strong after 9,000 miles!

No issues at all and the pads look to be wearing very well!

Have you towed with them ? Spacificly in the mountains or large declines with a TT?
