I know what you're thinking.... Cheap 35" Tires is an oxymoron! But I'm not asking for cheap ones, I'm actually wanting to know what size comparable to 35" with a 20" rim is cheapest than others in that same categorization.

For example, I had 285/65R20 and when they went out, a set of those cost $100 more than a set of 295/65R20... So for all the tires AROUND 35", is there a size or set that is generally cheaper than others also around 35"?

Gonna get a nice new set soon, and while the 295/65r20 Toyos I have are nice... I wouldn't mind a different size or even terrain if the cost savings warrants the change.

Thanks in advance!

Try mastercraft mxt. They were the cheapest tire I could find and look great after 30k

Any particular size that is typically cheaper than the others either on this brand or others? Not sure if tire sizes will always be more expensive on 35" versus 295/65r20 for example, or if the pricing will depend on the manufacturer.

Also, how's the road noise with those and wear on highway? I've never had mud terrains before because I do a lot of highway driving.

Has some noise I think more so because I need to upgrade my suspension. Wear has been great. My shop rotates them and said they are 40k tires and don't even look work with 30k on them.

Just went with a set of 35" Mastercraft Courser MXT's myself, $1178 out the door. Way cheaper than the 286/65/20 KO2's they replaced and they sure do look beefy.

I've had quite a few different AT's & MT's over the years, the MXT's are a really nice tire and if they last 30k I'll be very happy. Made by Cooper Tire in the USA.......

Can 35" tires fit down to the stock 20" rim though?

From what I understand, Metric tires are close to the size, but for some reason are built better/stronger. I have Toyo 35" tires on my 2500, load range E 121.. my buddy can't get those same times for his truck, 2500 megacab, has to be a load range E 126 tire. Only in Metric.. so his tires new have more tread depth than my 35" had new. And from what I hear will last longer too.. but now I can understand that a bit more since the thread depth is larger... Odd.. but..

Also, try to stick to good manufacture of tires. Don't get some no named tires. I haven't heard of half the tires mentioned on this site before and looking at reviews, I am glad.

Funny how people talk about 'road noise' - I have a 2017 Jeep Compass, the road noise on that car is far louder than the road noise/tire noise coming from my 35" tires on my Ram.. I don't think I'd worry about road noise.

The Mastercraft MXT looks so much like it's Cooper cousin the STT Pro. The Cooper has a bit more going on with the sidewall though.

tbey do indeed. The rims on my truck are factory 20x9's. They are the ones that came on the Laramie Longhorns back in 2012 IIRC, then the Limiteds in 2014 or something. My favorite factory rim so I traded out my chrome clads.........I like the subtle modified stock look.

They do indeed! I was set to go with the Pro's but the MXT's were a bit less expensive so I took the plunge. Another thing I like about Mastercraft/Cooper is the tires weigh less than most for a given size. I love'd the Toyo MT's I had on my CTD but I could feel the weight of those even with a tuned Cummins and they were only 295/70/17's!!!! Probably my all time favorite tire but man them things are HEAVY.

And these are still a reputable brand without getting into the Asian branded ones and sacrificing reliability/quality?

Sent from my SM-G955U using Tapatalk

They're reputable, but quality control isn't going to be as good as your Toyo, Nitto, Cooper or BFG. Probably going to be harder to balance and not last as long. My neighbor is running the Federals on his newer F-150 and likes them.

Edit: If it were me and my truck I would pony up the couple hundred more and get something from the four I mentioned. Tires aren't something to cheap out on IMO.
