Chrome Molding Question(s)

So I just purchased my 2014 Dodge RAM 1500 Crew Cab and I LOVE it. I'm already going nuts in accessories and was curious to know if chrome molding along the sides acted more as a protector against door damage or if it was mostly cosmetic.

I'll probably have a billion other questions coming down the pike lol

If you put it on the part on your door that sticks out the furthest it will help with door dings, but so will parking in the farthest spot in the parking lot from the entrance---sometimes. It seems no matter what you do, your always going to get dinged. Anything will help

I agree. But color matched will look about one million times better than chrome IMO.
