So I've about had it with this truck. I've checked everything. No play anywhere! Truck had spacers installed from previous owner. Removed them in hopes of using the bilstein kit. Well F me for thinking a job would go easy for once. The spacers acted like water cups and the strut nut was seized to the shaft....rusted so bad it wasn't even a hex head anymore! Ended up grabbing some quick struts for the time being since my schedule doesn't allow me to not have a vehicle.

So here's the situation. Truck clunks over small bumps and when first taking off. It's definitely in the front end but I can't locate it. Sway bar links are solid. I'm thinking maybe control arm bushings or lower strut bushing. But none of those have obvious signs of wear. I'm taking the old struts into work and cutting the nuts off and will reinstall the bils with the oem crap later on. Nothing like torch cutting and hoping a spring compressor doesn't fail! Ordering new oem strut mounts as well since they'll most likely be destroyed.

Didn't know torching off bolts was unique to ram. Have had to do it on a few non Chrysler vehicles. Of course I live in the salt belt.

Same here. It was the one thing I didn't consider when undertaking the job in my driveway (won't fit in the garage). Unfortunately all of my air tools are in the hangar a hour away [emoji58]. Looks like its going to cost me $200 for all the OEM components that will die by my torch.

i think mine is the sway bar end links. found a kit for $35, going to replace them and see if it takes care of it. Heard they can be damaged by a level kit. I have bills on 2.8

When I had a 2014 I had a clunking noise and felt it "pop" through the steering wheel upon acceleration. I had both end links replaced and intermediate steering shaft replaced as well which took care of it. If you look it up, others have had that issue. Now a 2016 that I had had a clunking noise which never could get figured out.

Mine feels very similar. But I can feel the pop on acceleration and braking in the pedals. You can hear a slight knock when rocking the wheel side to side.
